Meet Claire Coleman | Co-Owner & Event Planner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Claire Coleman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Claire, how does your business help the community?
At Colorado Corporate Escapes, we believe business gatherings can be a force for good. Our work supports the community by intentionally partnering with locally owned venues, hotels, restaurants, guides, and small businesses across the Colorado Front Range—keeping dollars local and helping our regional economy thrive.
We design corporate meetings, retreats, and experiences that prioritize human connection, well-being, and inclusivity. By creating meaningful moments that foster collaboration, creativity, and balance, we help teams return to their workplaces more engaged, inspired, and aligned—positively impacting company culture and the people behind it.
We also advocate for responsible and sustainable event planning, encouraging mindful use of resources and thoughtful engagement with the places we work in. Through community partnerships, local sourcing, and experiential programming that highlights Colorado’s culture and landscapes, we aim to elevate not just events, but the communities that host them.
Our goal is simple: to create purposeful experiences that strengthen businesses while giving back to the local community and respecting the world around us.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Colorado Corporate Escapes is a boutique event planning and destination management company specializing in corporate meetings, retreats, incentives, and branded experiences across the Colorado Front Range. What sets us apart is our deeply personal, relationship-driven approach. We don’t believe in cookie-cutter events—every experience we design is intentional, thoughtfully curated, and rooted in creating genuine human connection, whether that’s within a leadership team, a company culture, or the local community hosting the event.
I’m most proud of the heart behind our work and the way we collaborate—with our clients, our vendor partners, and each other. Being in the event industry truly lights me up, and getting to do this work as a career feels incredibly rewarding and exciting.
I’ve always been passionate about events and began my career in the travel and events industry. After having children and craving the flexibility of working from home, I launched a digital marketing company—my first real taste of entrepreneurship. While that business was successful for several years, as my kids got older, I found myself craving human connection and slowly felt drawn back into the events world. The marketing experience I gained during that time became a huge asset, allowing me to combine my passion for events with strategic marketing and entrepreneurship—ultimately helping me get to where I am today.
Having a business partner has been such a gift. Entrepreneurship can be an incredibly lonely journey, and having someone to collaborate with, lean on, and grow alongside makes all the difference. Building a business is never easy, but I’ve learned that reaching out for help, embracing failure as part of growth, and being open to feedback—then adapting and evolving—are essential. At its core, the events industry is about people, relationships, and connection, and that philosophy guides everything we do.
Supporting local businesses, championing meaningful experiences, and creating work that feels purposeful matters deeply to us. The lesson we return to time and again is that authenticity builds trust—and relationships are everything.
What we want the world to know about our brand is simple: we care—about people, about place, and about creating experiences that leave a lasting impression. Colorado Corporate Escapes is built on generosity, collaboration, and joy, and we’re excited to continue growing a business that reflects those values while helping others come together in meaningful ways.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh, I love showing people around this area—there are truly endless things to discover. If we’re basing ourselves in Boulder, here’s what I’d suggest for the ultimate experience.
We’d start with a stroll down Pearl Street Mall, taking in the local shops and lively street performers. I’d stop for coffee at Trident Booksellers & Café, followed by a delicious sandwich from Lindsay’s Boulder Deli. From there, we’d head to Chautauqua Park for a hike among the stunning and iconic Flatirons—an absolute must for any first-time visitor. We’d wrap up the day with dinner at Oak at Fourteenth, one of my favorite spots in town.
Another highlight would be a day trip to Estes Park, just about an hour’s drive from Boulder. We’d walk along the river, spot elk roaming through town, and take the Estes Park Aerial Tramway for epic mountain views. As the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, a visit into the park is not to be missed if time allows. I’d take them on a hike around Bear Lake, and perhaps onward to Alberta Falls. Before heading back, we’d stop at the historic Stanley Hotel for a tour and dinner.
Back in Boulder, I’d round out the week with a mix of relaxation and local favorites: a spa session at St Julien Hotel & Spa, afternoon tea at the beautiful Dushanbe Tea House, a brewery visit at Avery Brewing Company, and cocktails on the rooftop at Corrida. We’d pick up fresh fruits and vegetables at the Boulder Farmers Market, take an e-bike tour along Boulder’s extensive bike paths, and finish with a visit to the Celestial Seasonings Tea Factory—a fun and uniquely Boulder experience.
What makes this area so special isn’t just the scenery—it’s the blend of nature, creativity, wellness, and community. Boulder has a way of making people feel both energized and grounded, and that’s exactly the experience I love sharing with visitors.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, this recognition belongs to my business partner, Kayla Carter, who deserves the greatest credit for my story. Kayla is the founder of Colorado Corporate Escapes, and I met her at a networking event where we immediately connected. It became clear very quickly that our skills complemented one another and that the timing was perfectly aligned for us to join forces—rebranding her event planning company and establishing me as a co-owner of the business.
I feel incredibly honored to work alongside her. Kayla is generous, driven, and truly a force to be reckoned with. She is deeply personable and giving, and it brings her genuine joy to create meaningful experiences and long-lasting memories for others. That passion shows in everything she does, from corporate events to her gift basket business, and it inspires me every day. Building this business together has been one of the most rewarding chapters of my professional life.
