We had the good fortune of connecting with Julie Wallace and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own a clinic that helps people with the 4 P’s: Peeing, Pooping, Penetration, and Pain. Most people think they are coming for pelvic floor physical therapy, however what they end up coming for is an open and inviting environment where they can feel like they can share everything they want and they can gain insight about their body and health. We provide care that is unlike any other clinic by holding a vulnerable space with listening, being silent when it is appropriate, we make the uncomfortable comfortable, and we will provide life changing care.
I got to where I am today by doing A LOT of self work. I currently have 2 coaches and 1 therapist and I need all these people to help me get out of my way so I can change what pelvic floor care looks like in Northern Colorado. It has definitely been a roller coster with times of excitement and then times I want to quit and go work for someone else. Having a coach to talk these things through has helped me more than anything, as well as a very supportive spouse.
I have learned that at the end of the day, I want to be able to sleep knowing I did the best I could as an employer, as a therapist, as a wife, and as a mom. Sometimes this means to set the money aside and do what is right for the people around me. Our company truly believes that everyone deserves to have good care no matter your background or story. We provide as much free content as possible to help our community and get you the help that you need.
We are also very passionate about doing internal work. This can be scary and not everyone needs this. However, if you have been referred to pelvic floor therapy, you likely would benefit at least from an internal assessment if not treatment. We will educate you and we ask for your consent in everything we do. It is our mission to make you comfortable during your whole treatment plan. Our jobs are to empower you so you get the care that you deserve.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in in Loveland so I know this area best. We just moved here 4 years ago, so I am still learning about fun spots. I love going downtown and to the Dark Heart for a yummy drink and treat. I also love going and walking or running around the ponds. If my friend was coming for a full weekend I would take her backpacking at Dunraven for a night under the stars.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My number 1 shoutout is to my husband who has not only encouraged me to go after my dreams, he has also helped by watching our kids, taking care of our home, and being my office administrator. I would also like to thank all of the people in Northern Colorado and around the world who have believed in me and supported me especially my clients and referral sources. I absolutely would not be where I am today without your help. Lastly, I would like to thank my coaches. They have helped guide me in how to run a business and have listened to my tears and fears and they have celebrated my successes.
