We had the good fortune of connecting with Cody Geisendorfer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cody, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Really has been a step of faith each day, but have always admired business owners and entrepreneurs. Started with the idea that I could provide great service to clients in my own unique way and it grew from there. Late 2000’s recession provided the push to go out on my own. Had a stint working for a bigger company directing their structural engineering department but ultimately wanted and needed more autonomy.

What should our readers know about your business?
At Chayah Consulting Group we provide civil and structural engineering for developers, growing businesses, contractors, builders, and local municipalities. The consulting side we help walk our clients from concept through completion and help manage the development process by being an advisor and liason. Our strength is that we can really walk alongside a client and become part of their team, helping to ensure their vision is met while conforming to the numerous building codes and standards required. We pride ourselves in being creative but also efficient in tried and true building materials and methods. We have learned that it does take a team of competent and positive people to best serve our clients. We have a great team now, but it has been a learning experience and a challenge we have overcome to find good people in the post-Covid era. Our brand stands for great engineering and consulting that will result in a strong experience and buildable, permittable construction documents and service.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I think would definitely go to Rocky Mountain National Park in Estes Park during the summer and do some hiking and wildlife watching. Hike to Horsetooth Rock or shop Old Town in Fort Collins. Park Meadows Mall in Denver. Scheel’s in Johnstown. Fish Lake Dowdy in Redfeather for Rainbow Trout. Winter definitely Winter Park area for skying and snow tubing. Many good places to eat and drink all along Northern Colorado. Lots of family theme parks and attractions as well – Elitch Gardens, Water World, Great Wolf Lodge, Denver Zoo, Denver Aquarium, Butterfly Pavillion to name a few.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Too many people to cover everyone. Some that stick out are a couple of partners of the first engineering company I worked for out of college. They were great guys – very inspiring, mentoring, and trusting of me as a young engineer. They helped me develop very quickly as a young engineer. My wife for being a constant source of support and encouragement to always go to the next level and also in helping me avoid pitfalls. My parents for encouraging and supporting me as well. My faith in God and encouragement I have received from other Christians, pastors, and the written word. Many good books from Zig Ziglar, John Maxwell, Dan Miller, and others.
