We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Besser and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Courtney, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Integrity!! To me integrity means to be honest with yourself and with others. It also means to be true to yourself and your creative ideas, vision, mission and goals. There may be so many other folks that have the same business as you or have similar offerings or services, but there is only ONE YOU!
Your clients will be attracted to YOU because of who you ARE! I believe if you know yourself and come back to your why, why you are doing what you are doing, your integrity will guide you without fail in your business and personal life.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is Intune Wellness and my studio space is in the Rino neighborhood of Denver, CO. I currently offer weekly group public sound bath meditation sessions, .private/ corporate sound baths as well as my 1:1 sessions of energy healing with sound and Reiki, intuitive tarot readings, and coaching/ mentorship.
I am really proud and excited by how much my business has grown and evolved over the last 4 years of entrepreneurship.
What makes me unique I believe is that I have allowed my intuition to guide me on this journey. I had no original plan or dream to be doing everything that I’m currently doing. I’ve really just leaned in to how I want to show up to help people, be of service, and teach others what I know and what I’ve learned along the way.
Being a business owner is not easy! I have and will continue to move through those challenges when they present themselves. I’m so thankful for the support that I have from my husband, my family, and my other wellness peers and community.
What sets me apart? Well the obvious is that its rare to see a Black woman in wellness doing all that I’m doing in Denver!
Which is why it is so important for me to have my studio space because representation matters, and for my space to feel welcoming and inclusive. My mission is to help connect my clients and community to their intuition through all of my offerings/modalities so that they can live their most vital lives out in the world.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would hit up Denver Central Market because I go there often cause its in the same neighborhood as my studio space. I would love to go up and of course show them the mountains and go to a hot spring to relax!! My favorite is Iron Mountain Hot Springs. And if we were in the mood to go out dancing, I love the nights hosted by Love Language Denver because I love house music.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people who have guided and mentored me throughout my entrepreneurial endeavors! I want to shout out Ali Duncan of Urban Sanctuary, Nataline Cruz of Strawberry Moon, Elizabeth Filkin at Cosmic Tea, and Mariah Bottomly of Sacred Expansion to name a few!
I also want to shout out my favorite book, the Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz! I’ve read it many times over, and still each time I pick up a new gem and it resonates.
