Meet Cynthia Moos | Founder of Best French Forever

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cynthia Moos and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cynthia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Leaving my country to move to the USA made me realize how lucky I was to have been raised in Provence and how deeply I was attached to my roots. I also quickly noticed the interest of American women for the French culture, whether it be fashion, nutrition, interior design, and lifestyle in general. When the pandemic hit and travel plans were postponed, I saw an opportunity to bring a touch of Provence into women’s home and invite them to infuse French art de vivre into their lives. Best French Forever® was born.
Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Best French Forever® is a subscription box and gift set company featuring high-quality, sustainably-made products from the South of France (where I’m from) whose mission is to embellish people’s homes and lives, the French way.
I started this business as a way to introduce people to the art de vivre of Provence and to promote the region’s craftsmanship and traditions. I am very proud today to support local artisans and small businesses from Provence, while delighting women (francophile or not) with beautiful items to enhance their everyday.
I love to see my customers discover (or re-discover!) Provence from the comfort of their homes via the experiences and gift collections I curate for them.
Starting a business as an immigrant without a business degree wasn’t easy. Among all the unknown, I think my biggest challenge was to overcome self-doubt: that little voice in your head that says “are you sure you can do it?” I had a lot to learn and I’m still learning every day. As I grow, I realize that getting out of my comfort zone and doing things I’m afraid of is actually where the magic happens. It’s where you feel that everything is possible, and you keep going at it.
I can’t wait to grow my business so I can continue to support and tell the stories of my Provence artisans, and bring the French art de vivre into people’s home and life.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m fairly new to the Denver area but have fallen in love with it instantly! The beauty of the surrounding nature, the vibrant city, the kind community… I still have a lot to discover, and here are my favorite spots so far:
In Denver:
– Washington Park and the ice cream shop Sweet Action on Gaylord street
– the Botanical Garden (especially in the late Spring if you love peonies like me, or for the holiday light show)
– Sushi Den on Pearl Street
– Tamayo on Larimer Square
– The murals and street art in RiNo
– La Bouche near City Park for the great wines and fabulous (French) atmosphere
– Linger in LoHi
Then I’d go to a concert at the Red Rocks in Morrison, hike around the lake of Evergreen, visit the cool town of Golden and take a trip to the mountains!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people that have helped me get to where I am today, from my husband and my family who support me in all my endeavors, to my friends who have never stopped believing in me (even when I did), to my mentors in my youth and my adult life, to the wonderful community I’ve created with my business… The list goes on and on.
If I have to mention one specific organization that has helped me in recent months, it is the Elles Collective: a networking group of French women entrepreneurs based in the US. I’ve learned so much connecting with like-minded business owners who go through similar challenges in a country that is not originally ours but has welcome us and our ideas.
