Meet Dan Walters | Wildlife Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dan Walters and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dan, why did you pursue a creative career?
I have always had an artistic eye. When it came to bird photography, it all came together. The light, the color of the birds. This can all lead to very artistic images.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Getting that image just right. That is the challenge. And a lot of times, everything has to work out. The light, the behavior, the background. Everything works together to help create the perfect image.

Also knowing your subject. Being a bird photographer, you have to know your subject. This can help anticipate the behavior and help create an exceptional image.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In Colorado, that’s a lot. Thinking heading out to Mount Evans first thing in the morning for a little hiking and photography, then head back down to Idaho Springs for some pizza at Beau Joe’s Pizza.
