We had the good fortune of connecting with Dana Azzi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dana, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?

My blog, The Rebel Chronicles, has always had one single mission: to make all women, regardless of their background, culture, or education, realize that they are capable of becoming and doing whatever it is that they want in this life. That is my definition of a Rebel, and that is what I want every single woman to experience and live. Through my video interviews with successful women entrepreneurs, I give real-life examples of every day people who had a dream and went for it. I also share expert advice relating to career development or entrepreneurship via interviews, videos, and blog posts. All in all, my business is aimed at making an impact on women’s lives so that they in turn can continue to have a real impact on society.

What should our readers know about your business?
Building and growing The Rebel Chronicles has not been an easy journey. I’ve had many moments where I’ve wanted to stop it all. My husband has always been my sounding board in those moments of doubt and he always helped me realize my potential and the difference I’m making in people’s lives, and that has truly kept me going. I got to where I am now by taking risks, by thinking big. I always say go big, or go home. You’re only on this planet for a short amount of time, so might as well make the most of it while we’re here, and leave it better off than how we found it.

My brand has evolved over time, and has now reached a point where I would like to shape my mission into something even more concrete. I’ll be sharing more very soon!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are so many wonderful places to visit in Montreal. My favorite is definitely Old Montreal. I would start off with a beautiful stroll around the streets, stopping by to visit the cute boutiques. I would then take her for brunch, either to Maggie Oaks, or maybe Olive and Gourmando. In the afternoon, we would have to have a spa treatment at Bota Bota and enjoy the sauna and jacuzzis. In the evening, we would need to go to one of Montreal’s famous supper clubs, Palma, in the Griffintown district.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

My parents have always been proud supporters of my journey throughout my life. From the moment I left home at the age of 21 and decided to build an International career, living in Paris, London, Geneva, New York, Dubai, Beirut, and finally Montreal, they never stopped loving me and encouraging me to pursue my dreams. Once I launched my blog, and began being featured or attending events, they were and continue to be my biggest cheerleaders. They share every single one of my blog posts, they attend events and take pictures and videos, and they proudly share my successes with the world. I am eternally grateful for that love and support.
