We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Jimenez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Danielle, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
During the pandemic I began having very vivid dreams so I started dream journaling like I used to when I was in high school. I used to be really good at keeping track of every dream I would have and really wanted to build a career around dreams and psychology. Life went in a different direction towards a corporate career and I eventually lost touch with dreams and rarely gave them a second thought. Now that I was acknowledging my dreams, and sharing them with friends and family, it reminded me how much I loved the analytical part of dreams. I woke up one morning and decided it could be something fun I could do on Instagram and help others remember their dreams and utilize them in their waking life. I truly allowed my dreams to lead me to the next step. I had no idea how to run a business, but doing dreamwork brought light into my life. Each new dream I had would lead me to another aspect of what I wanted to offer. I was having dreams of what I felt were another lifetime so I researched past life regressions. An internet search brought me to a whole new idea. I could be a Hypnotherapist and become certified in Past Life Regression Therapy. Not only would I be able to offer regressions, I could use hypnotherapy to help people use their subconscious on a whole new level, for so much more. Aside from my wild dreams, another thing the pandemic offered was the ability to join school remotely. I would have had to move to California to enroll, but they began offering classes through Zoom. That also means I can provide my services through video chat, allowing me to see clients all over the world. I’m still currently in my residency at HMI College of Hypnotherapy, but I have over 300 hours of training and I’m a Certified Master Hypnotist.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Hypnotherapy and dreamwork are really about digging into what lies beneath the surface of our day to day life. Offering a quiet time to reflect and providing a space for the subconscious mind to come forward is what I get to do through my work. The world has been downright scary the past few years and having someone available to listen and care about the mind/body/soul connection can help immensely. We are all so busy rushing from task to task that we forget to be in the present and enjoy some of it. When we relax, we slow down the busiest part of our mind so we can connect our conscious and unconscious mind to gain insight and shift our perspective. I love helping people experience that shift. I feel at my best when I can research something new to help. I wish I had found that I could have done this years ago, but timing always works itself out. I’m trusting that I found all these tools at the time they are most needed and I’m so excited to share hypnotherapy with everyone I meet. I really think it could help so many people, especially when integrated with their current physician or therapist. My hope is that anyone that knows about hypnotherapy will try it once and see what it’s all about.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my favorite places to eat downtown is West of Surrender. Everything I’ve had is absolutely delicious. The Fritto Misto with their dill ranch is my must have. I love garden centers and my favorite local spot is Jared’s Nursery, Gift and Garden in Littleton. A few of my favorite metaphysical shops would also be on the itinerary. Full Moon Books & Events Center, Ritualcravt, and Goddess Isis Book and Gifts are my top 3. I really don’t drink or go out much anymore, but these are a few places I enjoy.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wouldn’t have jumped in to starting a business without the support of my husband and kids. I find myself doing all sorts of new things that are outside of the “norm”, but they always have my back. They even let me practice hypnosis on them, so I can better hone my skills. They play along and think it’s not working, but I hope some of the hypnotic suggestions are working their magic. I appreciate that they know how important this new path is to me. They are always here to encourage me to keep going even when I’m exhausted from trying to balance a full time job, home life, school, and now taking clients. I wouldn’t be able to make it work if they weren’t so supportive.
I have to thank my little brother who listens to me endlessly questioning the Universe and how it works and for letting me bounce my crazy theories and ideas off of him. I’m so lucky to have a sibling that brings out the best in me and for not only being supportive but playing devil’s advocate so I can see things from all angles. We shared a serendipitous moment and realized we were reading the same book, Journey of Souls by Dr. Michael Newton. Our dad passed away in March, but we had shared that he should read the book too and he finished it right before he passed, He didn’t tell us he was as sick as he was, but I think all of us reading the same book helped us grieve and know we will be together again.
My mom and dad always allowed me to be the non-conforming child and gave me the space to be myself unapologetically. They were both tough, but that gave me the strength to push back when I needed to even if that meant with them. My mom is always willing to drop whatever she is doing and help however she can, especially if it means she can spend the day with her granddaughters. I also have amazing in-laws. I’m so lucky to have parents that love and accept me in all my wild endeavors. My immediate family is so incredibly supportive and will help in every way they can if I’m brave enough to ask.
I also have some wonderful friends that have helped me along with my spiritual journey that led me to opening doors I wouldn’t have opened alone. Having friends that are supportive and will have conversations without judgement is very special. They encouraged me, listened to me, and cried with me through all the uncertainties and I’m so grateful they are on my team. I could go on for another hour thanking them all individually, but they know who they are.
