We had the good fortune of connecting with David Cabral and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi David, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I think of a risk as, taking a step forward without knowing anything. For me I did that at 15 starting photography with an old little Sony camera my mom had. Eventually that led to me taking a step to get a better camera, and developed a good feel photography professionally. During this whole process i had a few of my old friends tell me its not going to work out, your pictures suck no one will hire you and well, lets just say i proved them wrong. Jumped and landed while they are still at the same place 2 years ago.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m a local photographer here in Northern Colorado. I’m 17. Started this whenever I was 15 so I’ve been doing this a little over two years now. Im the photographer for @970Culture. And work with Sigma performance center ran by Mario Garcia. I do any videos or photos for them. I also do a little bit of portraits (graduation photos, senior photos or any headshots you need for work) I started with an old Sony camera and worked my way up to the camera. I have now a Lumix g85. I had graduated a year and change early (December of 2024) to chase this dream and so far I’m right where I want to be.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them up Old Town Fort Collins, for its historic architecture, local boutiques, and vibrant street life. After a while they are probably hungry so let’s take them to Silver Grill Café, get an iconic giant cinnamon roll,For outdoor fun defined take a gander at Lory State Park for a hike or visit Estes Park for the breathtaking views and vibes as-well a tour of the Stanley Hotel. Probably and the night off with heading back to the crib, watching some good movies or shows or play fun games.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout out, so I want to thank everybody within the car community from 970 culture to thatclear_fc1, fw_aurelio98 an upcoming photographer himself. I also thank nccm (Dylan Mills). They have all given me tips helped me get better with all of my photography and videography as well as content creation. I also wanna thank my parents. They have played a big role in supporting me with graduating early, and also go to mechanic school at Aims community college. They have also backed me up when I thought this wasn’t gonna go anywhere or if I had doubts about anything, always talked to them about it and they gave their opinions on it. Without any of these people, I probably wouldn’t be anywhere close to where I am now I just want to say thank you to all of them.
