Meet Deena Taylor | Owner, Zivel Performance & Recovery

We had the good fortune of connecting with Deena Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Deena, why did you pursue a creative career?
I came from a corporate background where I typically worked on average 50-60 hours per week. While I am very grateful for the leadership opportunities it afforded me, it wasn’t something that I can say I was passionate about or found rewarding. I love working with my clients, it has allowed me to blend my outgoing creative side with meaningful impact.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What I’m most proud of in my career is the impact we’ve been able to make on our clients’ wellness journeys. Hearing their stories — from improved health to renewed energy — is the most rewarding part of what we do. Beyond the results, it’s the relationships that mean the most to me. Over time, our clients have truly become like family, and those connections are at the heart of Zivel.
Starting this business was one of the scariest and most challenging decisions of our lives, but also the most rewarding. The support of our community and the trust our clients place in us keep us motivated every day. We’ve also been so fortunate to have an incredible team by our side. Our staff take such great care in serving our clients and are truly an essential part of our success — their passion and dedication shine through in every interaction.
We’ve learned that success isn’t about perfection, but about showing up consistently, listening, and genuinely caring. What sets us apart is not only the services we provide but the people behind them — both our staff and our clients. At Zivel, we’re not just offering wellness services — we’re creating a place where people feel seen, supported, and part of something bigger.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting, I’d want her to get a true taste of Colorado — the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and great food. We’d start with a Saturday morning at one of the local farmers markets, strolling through fresh produce, baked goods, and local artisans. From there, we’d plan an evening under the stars at Red Rocks for a concert — nothing compares to the energy and beauty of that venue.
During the week, we’d head up to the mountains for a getaway in Vail, with a side trip to Glenwood Springs to soak in the hot springs pool. A hike in Rocky Mountain National Park would also be a must — we truly have some of the most incredible beauty in the world in our little state.
Back in town, I’d make sure we enjoyed some of my favorite spots to eat and unwind. Brunch on the patio at Postino is always a vibe, while dinner at Sierra or La Loma never disappoints. Between the food, the mountains, and the music, Colorado offers such a unique mix of experiences — and that’s exactly what I’d want to share.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband and I both come from entrepreneurial families, and watching the hard work, dedication, and success of those before us inspired our own dream of business ownership. For me, my husband has been the driving force — instrumental in starting, growing, and encouraging me through every step as we’ve taken this journey together. Even in the most stressful moments over the past couple of years, he has remained my biggest supporter, always knowing exactly what to say
