We had the good fortune of connecting with Dejon Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dejon, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process? I’ve had the idea since I was back high school & always had a vision for how I wanted things to be. I knew for awhile how I wanted the website, socials & brand to present itself to the public before I even got the jump on it so I started off there and have just went step by step as things hit my plate. I don’t have everything set in stone just yet. In a way I am still in the process, right now I am working on finding the right people to work with & I’ve had a number of different issues since the beginning which comes with business but I won’t let it stop me or what I’m doing because I know in due time everything will come with the growth & eventually fall into place. So I am ready to put in the work to see where & just how far I can take it well hoping for the best outcome!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career is fairly simple I think. I don’t necessarily have a title or really want one because I do it all from designing, marketing, delivery & the rest of the aspects with the business too but to some I might just be a clothing designer in their eyes. I use a different number of programs like photoshop, adobe illustrator, pro create & even regular paper and pencil to create the artworks that actually end up on the garments themselves. Seeing something I’ve created myself from scratch, coming to life & having people genuinely like it or wearing it. That’s probably the best part of this whole thing for me. Especially because it’s for our city & it’s people.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I just honestly wanna thank you to the whole Family & they all know who they are, I’ve known a lot of them for a majority of my life & I’m grateful to have had some solid people on my side for so long because without them there wouldn’t have been a District4 Apparel but I also can’t forget about every single one of the supporters who have bought something or just interacted with our pages, its helped so much with getting other peoples attention and the brand getting exposure because they are the life line of it all, folks don’t even know how much it’s appreciated! Even for the future supporters of District4 I have to say thank you in advance for everything you’ll help me with. It’s all love for everybody by my side along this journey & I appreciate everything you guys have done so far to have helped me build so fast & I can’t wait to see where District4 Apparel is at in the next 2 years. DISTRICT BOYZ x DISTRICT GIRLZ 4LIFE!
