Hi Demie, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
The name of my business and personal brand is Start Going Further. To me, Start Going Further is EVERYTHING. This came to be through my realization that to do anything in life, to achieve our wildest dreams-we MUST be going further. With everything that I do, the words Start Going Further flow through me. I believe the message of Start Going Further can help so many people, and that’s why I am so incredibly passionate about sharing it with the world.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When I describe who I am and what I do, it’s honestly several things. But what it all comes down to, is the 3 words: Start Going Further. While I have big visions for the future, and am taking steps to achieve them-I’m ecstatic with where Start Going Further is today. I have a website and blog, where I share everything from recipes to personal development/motivational content. With every word that I write, I strive to be genuine and authentic. I share real stories from my own life about what I’ve overcome and what I’m currently working through. My hope is to inspire others to Start Going Further. On my website, I also have a candle shop. I have an online unique candle business. Start Going Further candles are meant to be more affordable and “better for you and your home”. I scent the candles with essential oils only, and pour them in repurposed jars/mugs. I love that I’m giving something a second life. The unique one-of-a-kind jars/mugs I find really make the candles special. I’m currently writing an Ebook to be published this year, and plan to have a small course associated with it at some point. I LOVE reading and I LOVE writing. I’m really gifted with words, and that’s why I feel so called to share my message of Start Going Further. I want to help people, and I always have a younger version of myself in mind too. I’m helping her every day.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Driving through Garden of the Gods would be toward the top of my list. I never want to take for granted that we live so close to this iconic park-and personally, I never get tired of it. Manitou Springs has always been a special place. Visiting SunWater Spa in Manitou for a soak in their cedar tubs is a must. I honestly love cooking at home, it is a favorite thing of mine when people come to visit us-to cook them great food. I’m obsessed with ingredients, cooking homemade food that doesn’t skimp on taste or flavor, and always with a healthy twist. Taking a drive up to Woodland Park and Divide for some wonderful views and possibly stopping at Paradox Beer Company would also be a likely part of the itinerary. If we do eat out with friends/family in town, Fat Sully’s is a go-to, and also Fuzzy’s seems to be. I’m all about enjoying every little thing about our surroundings and life. I think too many people take Colorado for granted in general, no matter where they live. I never want to take for granted the views of Pikes Peak, the trails, Garden of the Gods, or anything else this state has to offer. Although I live on the Front Range right now, my true happy place is any small mountain town.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Who comes to mind first is Influencer and Personal Development Guru, Brendon Burchard. When I first came across Brendon’s content, I was mesmerized by the way he spoke with ease about positivity and living a great life filled with impact. His message resonated with me and I realized although I desired to be a positive person, creating an impact wherever I go, and truly chasing my wildest dreams-I wasn’t doing so. Brendon’s content lit a spark inside of me.

Thank you to my Husband Donald and Yorkie Rue, for helping me and inspiring me to Start Going Further. It’s crazy to now look back on those early days, when I was finalizing the name of the personal brand/business I wanted to build. We decided on Start Going Further and I never looked back. Every single day and with each new adventure, I am truly living out the words “Start Going Further” with these two. Thank you to my Mom and Dad for always believing in me and my future.
