We had the good fortune of connecting with Dhiana Kho and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dhiana, what do you attribute your success to?
When we decided to open Doppio Coffee in 2018, our goal was to successfully serve good coffee and food to an amazing community. We continuously strive to bring joy to our customers, but we realized that the only way that we could succeed in this task is to form a strong team of kind, serving, and passionate baristas. We are so proud to have a team that consists of that today!
What should our readers know about your business?
When we first opened in 2018, we were excited newcomers in the coffee industry. Now, I am proud to say that my team and I have built a coffee shop that prides itself on good coffee, food, and service. The only way we were able to make it to where we are today is with the help of our strong, passionate, and hard-working team members. Especially with COVID hitting us in 2020, I was blessed to have a group of accommodating employees working our coffee shop. Though 2020 was a challenge for everyone, we pushed through to make sure we were operating as normally as possible, while still abiding by COVID guidelines. Unexpectedly and thankfully, it was one of our better years and we are so excited for a future of serving our customers with good coffee and even better service in a normal and safe world.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were to visit me in town, the first place I would do is have them get in the car and drive to Vail, CO. I would love to take them on the beautiful hikes the area has to offer, treat them to dinner and drinks at Matsuhisa, and shop around at Vail Village. After that, we would explore what the city has to offer, including the amazing restaurants, the coffee scene, and the dazzling views of the city from the tallest buildings in Downtown Denver.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my husband, Ben. Aside from running his own business, he is the most supporting and loving man I know. Whether it’s helping me run my business or simply cheering me on, he’s always there to support me as I make my way in the coffee industry as an Asian-American woman.
