Meet Dillon Eldridge | CEO + Photographer + Builder

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dillon Eldridge and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dillon, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
I approach everything through the lens of creativity and curiosity. That mindset has shaped not just how I work, but how I spend my time outside of work. Since my day job in software often demands structured and linear thinking, I’m naturally drawn to hobbies that offer a different kind of flow. Snowboarding lets me tap into rhythm and movement. Hiking opens up exploration and problem-solving in new environments. Photography and woodworking have taught me patience, presence, and a deep appreciation for detail. Over time, I’ve started to see the thread that connects them all, and how they’ve collectively fueled my creative journey.

What should our readers know about your business?
ScaleIP brings together two things I’ve always loved: software and science. I’ve been curious my whole life, starting as a “why” kid and later teaching myself to code in high school. After graduating from Colorado State University, I built systems for manufacturing facilities and picked up skills in UI design, project management, and operations. That path shaped me into a generalist with a creative approach to problem-solving.
At ScaleIP, we help innovators in universities, hospitals, and other labs get their ideas into the world. The reality is that most scientific breakthroughs never make it to market. We’re changing that by building software that makes IP data easier to explore, understand, and act on.
Our success comes from listening. Customers have shown us where the pain points are, and our job has been to focus on the ones that matter most. Support from local mentors and investors has also helped orient us in the right direction in each new phase of the company. We’re still early, but we’re proud of what we’re building. It’s exciting to go to work knowing we’re making these people’s lives easier.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Start by planning the trip around a Red Rocks show from your favorite band and stay in Golden. It’s the perfect home base—close to the mountains, Denver, and all the best parts of Colorado. Spend a day hiking at St. Mary’s Glacier or exploring the Mt. Evans wilderness, then swing back to Golden for a beer at New Terrain Brewery with mountain views.
Set aside a day for Denver. Walk around RiNo, check out a local art gallery or brewery, and end the night at a Rockies game. They may not be great, but the summer night vibes at Coors Field are unbeatable.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without a doubt, my shoutout goes to my loving and supportive wife, Emily. With her, I get to build what truly matters most in life. She’s the kindest, most playful soul I’ve ever met, and I’m constantly inspired by the goodness she brings to the world. Emily works in early childhood special education, helping children and their families navigate some of life’s most difficult challenges. Her work is filled with creativity, compassion, and a deep sense of purpose. She shows up every day to make life better for others. I feel lucky to witness that kind of love and dedication up close.
