We had the good fortune of connecting with Dinah Simpson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dinah, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
My work life balance has definitely changed over time. It’s a reflection too of where I was and where I am in my life right now.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Hi, I’m Dinah. How are you? I want to know who you are and all the things that go along with being you. This is your energy, and that energy is what lights you up. I created HIGH KI LIVING to empower people just like you to live the highest vibration of your life. Through meditation, breath work, and energy healing, I have found a way of life that connects me to my highest and most authentic self and I am humbled to share these modalities with you.
My personal journey lead me down a path of transformation–to a place where I learned various high vibrational philosophies and adopted them to fully enrich my life. I now use these enlightening tools to move through life’s ups and downs with compassion, presence, a neutral mind, purpose, and a smile.
HIGH KI LIVING’s mission is to empower people just like you to live fully, to live authentically. I provide organizational and personal wellness consulting and mentorship; guidance for clarity and intention setting; programs to relieve anxiety and stress in the workplace; as well as individual support to get you aligned with your higher self (your purpose). I can help bring a more holistic awareness to the choices to you make in your day-to-day or long term dreams.
When we make time to nourish ourselves and tend to our inner world, we have more space to nourish others– our family, friends, co-workers, or community. Working together, we will focus on the use of meditation practices, breathing techniques, sound therapy, Reiki, movement, nutrition, and other high vibrational approaches to manifest the very best version of you.
How Did I Get Here?
As I mentioned, my personal journey led me down a path of transformation. I continue to heal and grow from childhood abuse and resulting trauma. My inner exploration has brought an awareness to how I make decisions, react, and connect emotionally to myself and others in my life. And this is where the shift begins. This is what I am most proud of: confronting my vulnerabilities and discovering that my personal and professional life rely on the health of each other in order for me to be the best version of myself. Once I addressed my need for personal healing, I found my purpose in life.
I have my MBA in finance with over 10 years of experience consulting and working with Fortune 50 companies. My career in the finance industry made it easy for me to distract myself by being a competitive perfectionist–aka, must make lots of money and have control. I felt that I needed success and accomplishment to validate my worthiness. I was able to hide behind my work. I continued to live a life that did not feel authentic to me, rising to the expectations of what others/society programmed as successful. I always felt I needed more, something was missing. And it continued: shifting from career to motherhood.
After becoming a mother, I deiced to leave the financial arena and focus on my family. Becoming a parent has been the most challenging job ever. Early on, I continued to strive and exhaust myself to adhere to the expectations of what I was conditioned to believe motherhood to be. But soon enough, my kids quickly taught me the lessons I needed to learn to figure out who I really am and how to heal in order to live fully.
I have 3 kids and 2 of them have ADHD and dyslexia. And these days, all of them have a level of anxiety. The love and dedication to advocate for my kids who have learning differences empowered me. My kids were the catalyst to continue my inner work, to heal my inner child and overcome an attachment to fear. And to finally get to know and love myself. In order to be fully present for my kids, I had to be present and pay attention to the distractions (patterns) that kept popping up within me. Motherhood was another identity I hid behind and it forced me to face all of my shadows: insecurity, worthiness, abandonment, abuse, and the list goes on. It’s exhausting to not live in alignment. I finally gave up trying to be someone I wasn’t and surrendered to become who I am meant to be.
The magic began with connecting to my inner self through meditation and once I learned about that, I realized I could easily connect to others; they were me and I was them. After discovering my authentic self, living in alignment is easy. You figure out that living in a high vibration opens you up to receive that same kind of vibration. The more I love myself, the more I can give to others: my children, family, friends, and my community. And it comes right back to you through a sense of peace and well-being.
I still keep parts of all the different women I have been. I do not judge who I was, but rather honor those dark places of loneliness, insecurities, and vulnerabilities…I could not be the woman I am today, if I had not been the woman I was. I delight in the consciousness that comes with meditation and spiritual awakening but the greatest gift I have experienced is to share the path to healing with others.
It is my passion to facilitate your transformation and healing through meditation, energy work, and holistic health. I am committed to guiding you toward balance and restoration, to discover your passions, and to empower you to live the highest vibration of your life.
