We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Matthew Pennetti and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Matthew, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?

The biggest factor behind our success is our approach to health. Prime Chiropractic is different from the traditional chiropractic offices. A traditional chiropractor focuses on treating symptoms, short-term relief, and increasing ranges of motion. This approach can be very helpful, it’s just not what we do. At Prime Chiropractic, we specialize in Neuro-Structural Restoration. We focus on correcting core problems in your spine that may be contributing to your pain, and may also be contributing to things you’re not aware of yet.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

Prime Chiropractic has been a work of love. Originally, I practiced in San Diego with my wife, Dr. Lauren Pennetti. We had an awesome practice, but it was mostly focused on pain relief. It wasn’t terribly fulfilling for me, because I found that many people who came in with a specific pain would get relief for a period of time and then return down the road with a similar or possibly worse pain, because it was never truly fixed. When we moved to Denver to open up Prime Chiropractic we both agreed that we wanted a practice that helped people understand the true nature of healing so they could get lasting change. Our goal at Prime is to educate our practice on the basic requirements they must get every day, if they intend to get/stay healthy. The approach we use in our practice, called Neuro-Structural Chiropractic, isn’t a treatment for any disease or condition. To put it simply, it’s the best strategy we’ve found to improve the health of your spine and nervous system. And when the spine/nervous system is are healthier, the likelihood of pain and symptoms drops.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When we have friends in town, we love to take them up to the mountains to see the amazing views and scenery. We have two kids, so we’re partial to the Glenwood Springs Hot Springs and all the fun that can be found up there. If we’re staying around town, we love to head over to the Pepsi Center and catch a basketball game, or head to Larimer Square for a bite to eat.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The reason I’m a Neuro-Structural Chiropractor today is due to the efforts of a chiropractor over 15-years-ago. I was suffering from debilitating cluster headaches. They were hurting my performance in school, and keeping me from working out with the team (I was a college basketball player at the time). I tried all the medications, treatments, and therapies. Nothing helped me. I didn’t know what else to do. And my chiropractor, Dr. Cody was the one who took me under his wing, showed me how health in the body worked, how the neck and cervical spine could contribute to the pain I was experiencing, and set me on a path to true health and freedom. After working with him, I was able to dramatically reduce the cluster headaches to the point where I could get my life back on track. It was a magical moment in my life that ultimately pushed me to become a chiropractor myself.
