We had the good fortune of connecting with Elan Schwartz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elan, how do you define success?
I feel like success in itself is very subjective. I guess the biggest way I would describe success is not being afraid to follow your dreams no matter where it leads you and true success is showing up everyday with no excuses and rolling with what needs to be done despite if you love every aspect of everything that an industry, or a relationship or even being a parent has in store for you. The real reality in in my opinion is success never comes easy and it is always based on your passion and drive towards whatever it is you want to accomplish. Show up with a purpose because to me success is just that, doing something in your life that has a purpose for you and your family.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets my business apart from others I feel is my company simply has walked the walk. Though we are a business and very much do thrive in a practice that can sometimes be challenging finding your way in a very cut throat industry. I feel understanding the business from a musician point of view having played in bands for 15 years and counting and being thrown into the trenches and starting this business based the things I loved and trying to subtract things out of my model that I disliked and understanding composition, talent booking, promoting, backend bar business, touring, writing and performing I feel sets my company apart from others. You cannot thrive without knowing what it is like to be on the front line first. It was not easy. Lessons I have learned along the way. You know I wish I could say hey, this is how I got here. I think sometimes the tides sway in certain directions. I never expected to do this type of business for a living, but the business kind of thrived on its own and just kept growing. I overcame challenges but keeping my focus on my goals and to not let distractions, drama, and interferences make me feel like I could not do it. I don’t think there is a successful person in history of any company that can say there weren’t days they wanted to give up. The thing that keeps you going is the passion and love and of course the fact that you have to believe in your plan A. I have never had A PLAN B. I want the world to know that we need you dreamers out there because with out you there will be nothing for the future to learn about. There could of never have been a Mozart, or a Einstein with out a dream and a thought and putting it into action. It are those risk takers that truly shape the world we are in. My business simply put is a dream turned into a reality. The person that you need to believe in you the most is YOU!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well I would obviously show them Downtown because Denver has a great nightlife. Redrocks, Camping spots. Skiing areas, places to 4 wheel. Eat and drink and hang out at places that I know and love like Hermans Hideaway, Buffalo Rose, The Venue, The Wild Goose Saloon and more!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I feel like my shoutout is simple. I would like to shoutout The entire Colorado Music Industry. I feel like there have been so many ways that this drive have stayed alive. 1. People who have definitely given and shown me love, 2. Haters that have shown me to persevere because it truly only matters what you feel as well as how you think and deliver in your life. I would say as far as a specific person no. But 100% my daughter, my significant other, and all of my family is a huge inspiration and of course all of the amazing musicians and my band Lola Black whom I drum for that has believed in me as a musician and as a team mate of this crazy thing we like to call MUSIC!
