We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Schmidt and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Emily, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Always have the mindset of a student. It’s so easy when you’re in a profession and on your own to feel like you have mastered your style, your skills, your ideas etc. I’ve found that doing your best to keep learning and trying new things can be a major factor in success.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work is all about capturing moments, big or small. I focus on creating memories you didn’t realize would be memories. My goal is create laughter, genuine emotion and help you write the best wedding story you can- with the photos to match!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d start with coffee in the Cherry Creek neighborhood, there’s a little coffee shop in that area that I must go to whenever I’m in town! Then I’d probably venture out of the city, there are so many beautiful trails and views to show off! I’d probably head in the direction of Boulder, Chautauqua is one of my favorite local mountain views. Plus I love a walk along Pearl Street, enjoying the street performers shopping and getting some yummy food.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
So many people! I think I own so much of my success to my close friends and family. From the time I was starting out up to now they have been the most supportive group to have around. My friends will often model for me when I have a new idea to try and my family always offers me a free place to stay when I have traveling to do. They’re amazing!
