Meet Erica Notini | Adventurer and Blogger

We had the good fortune of connecting with Erica Notini and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erica, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to start writing my own blog so that I could have a record of my adventures. It lets me go back and read about these cool things I’ve done. It also lets friends and family at home follow along much better than just posting on social media. Plus, writing is fun!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Even though I’ve been writing for years, I still feel as though I’ve just started. My blog doesn’t have a very big following (mostly just family and friends) so I support myself by working seasonally. My writing always has room for improvement. I’m most proud of how transparent I am in my writing. I don’t sugarcoat anything and I’m always willing to talk about difficult subjects, such as mental health and injury.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
You’d find us outside! I think our wild places are the most worthy of our time and care. Depending on where they had been before, I’d plan some hikes of little known places in the White Mountains. I’d also bring them up to Errol NH to Northern Waters Outfitters. That place is like a home away from home, and you are pretty much guaranteed to see a moose. I’d bring them there over the weekend and take them rafting on the Rapid or the Magalloway, and introduce them to these crazy whitewater people that I lived and worked with throughout the COVID crisis.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
100% my mom. She has always supported me, no matter what I decide I want to do. Even if it means I’ll never be a millionaire, she’s always emphasized that I should do what makes me happy. She’s also the reason why I fell in love with hiking and backpacking and pretty much anything else outdoors. My brothers and I went on our first backpacking trip when I was six and my youngest brother was 4.
