We had the good fortune of connecting with Erik Foss and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erik, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
Born in northern Illinois but spent my more formative years in pheonix arizona. let’s just say one can use trauma to there advantage .
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Please tell us more about your art. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others,
I’m this instance maybe the fact that I am self taught and there is zero nepotism in my story. Everything that has happened is a result of learning through life’s lessons. The hard way if I may.
what you are most proud of or excited about.
I think I am most proud of the fact that I figured out a way to make a living doing what I live and came to New York to do with out breaking any of my moral codes I.e. selling drugs , sleeping to the top , lying and or ladder climbing.
Very easy to get ahead using these methods , I never did.
How did you get to where you are today professionally.
Worked hard , worked every day , stayed in nyc , never cheated , stayed true to my self and my vision.
Was it easy?
No , it was brutal
If not, how did you overcome the challenges?
People from my background have no choice , yiu either succeed or die trying.
What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way.
Never give up , stay positive , and make your bed before your leave the hose every day.
What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
If I can pull it off , any one can
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc. In your view what are some of the most fun, interesting, exciting people, places or things to check out?
I live in lower Manhatten , it’s all exciting .
The second your step outside it’s fascinating.
I would simply walk Aron d and tell stories.
I’ve been living in Manhatten since 1996.
So the stories are endless
