We had the good fortune of connecting with Erik Martin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erik, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Building a band is equal parts art and business, so you always have to find a happy balance between the two. When we started our band we had a passion to bring our favorite styles of music to life, while putting our own personal twist on the music. It’s vital that your band members are great business partners and great friends as well. Starting a band is such a unique business venture like none other.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Mosaic was started in 2015 as a progressive rock band. Over the years it has morphed into a collective of musicians who strive to push them selves to always try to innovate and grow. We love fusing multiple styles of music within the realm of hard rock. Adding Latin, Middle Eastern, Jazz, Funk, and Edm elements into our music gives us a unique and original sound. The biggest goal for us as a band is to positively impact others through our art form. When someone reaches out to us to let us know that our music positively changed their lives in some way, it makes the all the hard work and dedication to this project well worth it!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We are all very artistic people and we tend to feel most comfortable in a similar environment. The Rhino Art District in Five Point screams exactly this. If you enjoy art, music, cuisine, and great people watching that is definitely the spot to be. This is hands down one of my favorite spots in the city!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My brothers in this band deserve so much credit from the countless hours, blood, sweat, and tears they have poured into this project with me. I couldn’t do it without them, and being in a band is truly a testament to working together as a team!
