We had the good fortune of connecting with Erin Fletter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erin, what do you attribute your success to?

I have been extremely fortunate to be surrounded by a dedicated team at Sticky Fingers Cooking® who believe in our mission to ignite a culinary revolution in the hearts, minds, and stomachs of kids everywhere!

At Sticky Fingers Cooking®, relationships matter, not just recipes and cooking skills. Our executive team isn’t just a group of colleagues – we’re a family. With over a decade of collaboration under our aprons, we’ve built a foundation of trust and accountability that’s as solid as a well-baked cake. It’s this culture of hospitality, good relationships, and service that our families experience when one of them joins an after-school enrichment program or summer camp.

Perhaps the proof is in the pudding, as they say, because when we turned to a franchise model, our first two franchise owners were employees who made the transition to business owners.

What should our readers know about your business?

One of our new franchise owners said that the reason he decided this was the right company for him to invest in and be a part of was because it felt to him like, “we’re in this together.” Yes! That’s how we feel about each cooking lesson and building successful businesses.

We’re equally passionate about transforming culinary education as we are about creating more successful and sustainable small business owners across the country with our social enterprise business model. Our business is good for communities, great for kids, and wonderful for schools, while providing a meaningful and fruitful business opportunity to our independently owned and operated franchise owners.

Other things to know:

  • We have an innovative approach to teaching and push the boundaries with our non-brick and mortar business model.

  • We have a proprietary technology platform, The Dash®, which serves as the backbone to our operations.

  • We have created thousands of recipes, and counting, with classroom curriculum for our cooking classes.

  • We have five cookbooks and more on the way!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

That’s easy! For the ultimate Denver experience with my best friend, we’d start with a fabulous dinner at Barolo Grill, the heart and soul of Denver’s dining scene. As luck would have it, my fabulous and dashing husband, Ryan Fletter, is the owner and operator! Barolo Grill isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a cherished part of our lives. With over 32 years of excellence, Barolo Grill has become a Denver dining institution, renowned for its authentic Italian cuisine and unparalleled hospitality.

Also, my neighborhood in northwest Denver, the Highlands, is home to several noteworthy eateries such as Duo, Root Down, and Spuntino. On my list to try soon is also Key Kiddo, which is getting phenomenal reviews!

When people are visiting, you can’t beat a trip to Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre, even when there isn’t a concert, just to see the scenery and maybe take a short hike or do a yoga class on the benches.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

Absolutely, there are several individuals and groups who deserve recognition for their role in shaping the success of Sticky Fingers Cooking®. Firstly, I want to express my gratitude to our students and their families. Their enthusiasm for learning and cooking fuels our passion and reminds us of the importance of our mission every single day.

I’d like to dedicate a shoutout to our amazing team at Sticky Fingers Cooking®. Their dedication, creativity, and commitment to our mission have been the driving force behind our growth and impact. I also want to recognize our franchise owners, whose passion and hard work bring our vision to life in communities across the nation.

I also want to acknowledge my dad, Joe Hall, who started and helped build the business, and my husband and fellow entrepreneur, Ryan Fletter, for his unwavering support and loving partnership in this journey. A special shoutout to our three amazing daughters for their love, support, and sacrifices.

In addition, I want to express my gratitude to my Entrepreneur Organization forum mates: Paige Goss, Kelly Bianucci, Jon Taylor, Ethan Castro, Rob Carpenter, Tyler Horsley, and Jeff Young. Having these people in my life has profoundly impacted and changed me in the best possible ways, both professionally and personally. I’m grateful for the support and mentorship of these seven fellow entrepreneurs and industry leaders who have offered invaluable advice and guidance along the way.

Together, these individuals and groups form the solid foundation of Sticky Fingers Cooking®’s success, in addition to my personal success and fulfillment, and I am incredibly grateful for their support and contributions.
