We had the good fortune of connecting with Euda K. Best and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Euda K., we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My process was completely haphazard. LoL. Not much thinking involved at all. One of my offerings is reading “regular” playing cards and I am the 7♠️ or the card of “fearlessness/faith.” In other words, most of my life and my art is just about going with the flow aka following my instincts even when it doesn’t make “sense.” In tarot-spreak, I am the fool. That being said, I started all my businesses because I was already doing something in my life until there came a time when it just made since to start doing it as a business.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When it comes to work, the short answer is that I am a healer, here to help people remember who they are. Living in this crazy world can cause amnesia. It’s probably designed to cause amnesia, but it’s time that we all remember who we are. I am a reM!NDer.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
brother jeff’s Cultural Center, Konjo Ethiopian Food at Edgewater Public Market, The OPEN / American Bonded rooftop off 27th & Larimer, Urban Sanctuary, Akente Express and my home in Globeville.
Since The Panasonic made all our favorite DJs start streaming on Twitch I never have to get out of the bed to find a party and since my house is my sanctuary being able to get dressed or not and dance around my house is a dream come true. I don’t know if everyone would consider Twitch a place “in Denver,” but I certainly do! That being said, I’d also like to shout out Dez Andres aka Habanero aka DJ Dez of Slum Village for making me one of his mods and broadening my musical horizons! I know so many amazing musicians I feel kind of bad only mentioning one, but if I get started, I’ll never stop. I gotta shout out Dez though because as another 7♠️ he has really been instrumental (pun intended) in showing me what I can do if I put my mind to it. #iLiveThanks
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Well, I’d like to thank me for leaving my corporate job, and I’d like to thank me for finding the discipline to practice the things that help me heal and I’d like to thank me for being willing to be uncomfortable in an effort to grow and get better and I’d like to thank me for being an excellent student. LoL. And I’d like to thank my son Justy Robinson who is my artistic idol and I’d like to thank Lakshmi Nair of The Satya Yoga Cooperative and Ali Duncan of Urban Sanctuary and, of course, Nikki Ashlea for suggesting me for this article.
