We had the good fortune of connecting with Eugene Ebner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eugene, how do you think about risk?
Risk is a part of life. In my opinion, taking risks allows us an opportunity to grow personally and professionally. As a creative entrepreneur, I have had to take many risks over the years. Some risks have paid off; while others have been valuable and important, yet sometimes challenging, especially in the last few years. I think what I had to learn over the years was that risk-taking is not only a choice but that, even when something is considered a failure, it’s really not. Because you evolve and learn what to do better next time. You never know when that one risk will pay off. That’s where the true magic lies!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I grew up in a home that was filled with music, thanks to my beautiful mother, Peggy. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance and since then have continued to pursue my passion for entertaining, TV hosting/interviewing and producing inspiring events that make a difference in our community. Honestly, it has not been an easy journey, but I wouldn’t change a thing. I’m really excited about where I am currently with my career. I signed with talent agency Phirgun Mair Worldwide last fall. Thanks to my agent Peter Yanke, I have been up for numerous exciting TV projects.
Most recently, I worked with Christina Crawford (author of Mommie Dearest) and talented composer David Nehls on their latest project, a stage musical about the founders of the historic Elitch Gardens.
I have learned so much about myself, especially that my creative power comes from within. And trusting that is crucial. My goal is to unite people with inspiring and entertaining material.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There’s so much that Denver offers. I would definitely take them to the Denver Botanic Gardens, Cheesman Park, Rocky Mountain National Park with dinner at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park. I would also love for them to experience the amazing talent that the Denver theatre community offers. We would go to dinner at Las Caras, a Mexican restaurant in the Tamarac area, followed by a show at one of our favorite theatres
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have been very fortunate to collaborate with some amazing organizations that give back. One that comes to mind is the Denver Actors Fund, who supports Colorado artists that need medical or dental assistance. One of the highlights of my career so far was co-producing (along with my amazing husband Paul Page, who says he is my biggest fan) a benefit concert entitled United in Love. There have been numerous family and friends who continue to show their unconditional support in my talents and future goals. I am grateful for them every day.
