We had the good fortune of connecting with Fernando Miranda and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Fernando, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
One thing most people don’t realize about the auto glass industry is how much people are at the heart of it. From the outside, it might just look like we’re replacing windshields—but what we’re doing is keeping families safe on the road, helping businesses stay on schedule, and giving someone their peace of mind back after an unexpected crack or break. There’s a lot of behind-the-scenes coordination, care, and craftsmanship that goes into every single job. It’s not just about the glass—it’s about the lives behind it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career in the automotive industry spans over 25 years, during which I’ve held a wide range of roles—from sales and store manager to executive and regional vice president for several multi-billion dollar and Fortune 100 companies. Along the way, I’ve gained deep insight into leadership, systems, and, most importantly, how to work with and serve people. Those experiences shaped my approach and ultimately laid the foundation for launching Quality Auto Glass Colorado. Today, I get to leverage everything I’ve learned to build a business focused on creating the best possible customer experience. I believe that kind of experience comes down to having the right systems and processes—but above all, the right people.

What sets us apart is simple: we genuinely care. We’re not trying to be the biggest—we’re focused on being the best at what we do and treating people right. Whether it’s a retail customer needing a windshield or a fleet account needing fast, reliable service, we show up with honesty, pride in our work, and a commitment to doing it right the first time.

It hasn’t always been easy. Like any entrepreneur, I’ve faced plenty of roadblocks—building systems from scratch, wearing 10 hats, and learning to keep growing without burning out. The biggest lesson? People matter most. Relationships, reputation, and how you treat people will take you further than any ad campaign or shortcut ever will.

At the end of the day, I want people to know that this business was built with heart. We’re local and family-owned, and we don’t take your trust lightly. We don’t just replace glass—we help people get back on the road, run their businesses, and feel safe again. That’s what keeps us going.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting for a week, they’d definitely stay with us—hospitality is just how we roll. We’re not big planners, so the week would unfold naturally, but there are a few key experiences I’d definitely want to share.

We’d kick things off with slow mornings—coffee in hand, soaking in Colorado’s mountain views from the porch. From there, we’d let our appetites guide us. As foodies, we’d dive into Denver’s incredible food scene, especially the Mexican restaurants. Tacos, green chili, anything grilled—we’re not shy about eating well here.

One day, we’d head down to Manitou Springs and start early with the infamous Incline Challenge—a true test of grit with over 2,700 steps straight up. After conquering that, we’d spend the rest of the day recovering and refueling at some of the local eateries, enjoying that quirky small-town charm.

Another highlight would be a day trip to Glenwood Springs. We’d leave early in the morning to make the most of it, soak in the natural hot springs, and maybe explore the area a bit before heading back. It’s a longer drive, but totally worth it for the relaxation.

If it’s summertime, we’d catch a Rockies game at Coors Field and then cap off the night with cigars and conversation at Churchill’s in the Brown Palace, one of my favorite classic Denver spots.

We might also take a drive to Cripple Creek, wander through the old casinos, and take in a bit of that old-school mountain town vibe.

Throughout the week, there’d be plenty of time outdoors—maybe hiking around Garden of the Gods or just exploring hidden gems in and around town. And every night would end the same way: unwinding with good food, great company, and those kinds of conversations that last for hours.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Behind every good business is a team of people who show up, support, and keep things moving—and I’m lucky to have that. First, I’ve got to shout out my team of glass pros, Greg and Leisan. They show up with pride in their work, take care of our customers like family, and make the whole operation run smoother. I’ve been lucky to have friends whose encouragement made the journey a little lighter. I’ve always been all-in on this path, but their words and support along the way have meant a lot. And most importantly, my wife. She may not be the face of the business, but behind the scenes, she’s the glue that helps keep it all together. Her support, love, and countless contributions mean more than I can ever say. This business is a team effort, and I’m lucky to have some of the best.
