We had the good fortune of connecting with Ginger Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ginger, what matters most to you?
I believe my “why” is the most important principle and that particular principle is what brings value to my business. My ultimate goal is for my clients to see themselves the way I see them for the beautiful, beloved people in which they were created. My hope is that in all that I do that I can bring glory to God. On a more earthly level, I want to provide my clients with images that they can look back on and cherish for years to come. When we die, pictures and memories are all we have. Why not place importance in that and fully invest in it? Essentially, my goal is to create a good experience for everyone that steps foot in front of my camera and encapsulate the moment. The principle of keeping time still for an instant and capturing it is so valuable to me.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career began around 2017 where I started to really utilize my photography skills by taking pictures of friends and their families or significant others as well as weddings. I photographed my first wedding in 2018 which led to my love for weddings and honestly, just photographing people in love. I photographed weddings alongside my talented, dear friend Stephanie Smith whom I had mentioned earlier. Photography has actually been a side-gig for most of the time for me. I’ve been a nurse since 2013, so I considered photography as a creative outlet. As of a little over a year ago, I no longer was a full-time registered nurse as my business began to grow. I’m still a nurse and work a few shifts at the hospital per week while also and running my photography business. It’s wild sometimes and I’m still learning and growing in both areas of my life while also being a wife and a mom. Trying to find a balance has been a challenge, but I’ve been blessed with a great support system so that I’m able to carry out doing what I love.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’d definitely stop by a few food trucks, breweries and check out some local artists at a show or art trail.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout goes to my dear friend who is no longer with us on earth, Stephanie Smith with Mockingbird Photography. Stephanie taught me so much about life, about business and about friendship during the years I knew her. We grew our businesses together. She influenced my life in such a vast way and I miss her every single day.
