Meet Grant Adams | Musician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Grant Adams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Grant, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I”m from the midwest. I grew up in Indiana and Michigan. I’ve been living in Colorado for over 20 years and although my environment and landscape and local music have rubbed off on me, I can still see a lot of influence in my thinking from my childhood. When you grow up in a small town you have to be creative to combat boredom. That taught me to look around and explore different avenues and neighborhoods. We didn’t have a lot of formal attractions or events but we had enough mobility through our bikes and plenty of time during long summer days to explore and experience nature.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I just recently released my first solo album. I’m very excited about it because I’ve never undertaken such a big project on my own. I’ve played with several bands and talented musicians over the years. I’m fortunate to have the experience of playing a wide a variety of musical genres from hard rock to bluegrass. I think that’s all played into the eclectic mixture of sounds you hear on my album. But I’ve never been able to call all the shots for the creative direction until now. It’s been fun but also daunting. I played all the instruments on the album and have to make sure that every part sounds exactly how I want it to sound. I did end up sharing some of the early progress with some close friends to get feedback but in the end I had to sign off on all the creative decisions.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Easy–we have a huge meal at Sherpa House in Golden then catch a show at Red Rocks. We spend the rest of the week hiking in the foothills and mountains. Then finish up with a day of eating and drinking downtown Denver and walk the 16th street mall.
