We had the good fortune of connecting with Grayson Adams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Grayson, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always had a passion for photography. I remember back growing up I’d always beg my parents when we were at Walmart for a disposable camera and really fell in love with the art. Come a few years ago I was at a crossroads and mentally exhausted and needed a change. I had the gear and the passion for this art and here we are now. Almost 10 publications across the world!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I feel like I have a different perspective in the world of fashion photography to be exact. Where I find the most inspiration is in the models that wouldn’t normally be seen on a runway, models that are under represented as there true self. I myself am a larger person with pearcings and tattoos. I want to change the stigma and give the light to people that wouldn’t get the light. My story isn’t normal ether starting out I had tried to build a portfolio to show what I can do i was struggling to get the time of day. After fashion week here in Colorado Springs I had built something to be proud of.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
To start the day we would go get the best doughnuts in town Amy’s. Then we would go explore the Olympic museum I grew up a giant fan of the Olympics and having that attraction in town is amazing! For lunch we would go and get sushi from AWI. Then we would go play on a cliff at Palmer park. Then end the night at an silent disco and dinner at coati!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There is two people I have to shout out I wouldn’t have made it to this point without. The first I’d like to thank is Jamie Taylor and the amazing team at Colorado Springs Fashion Week. Without Jamie taking a chance with me with my small portfolio back then I wouldn’t have made all the new friends and connections in the industry. But most importantly I need to thank my wife. Without her constant support no matter what non of this would be possible. She my rock when things get hard.
