Meet Halim Ali: Mental Health Advocate, Master Facilitator and Life Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Halim Ali and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Halim, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Understanding and studying “The 5 Foes Of Man” ie; misery, weakness, instability, inconstancy and insufficiency of knowledge lead me to claim dominion over my own happiness regardless of external circumstances or conditions. Lead me to focus on what is strong and not what is wrong in myself and others. Lead me to understand the importance of foundational principles, the stabilization and implementation of said principles in my daily life and affairs. And also lead me to understand and appreciate that the gathering of knowledge and information is more than a kindergarten through 12th grade undertaking but a life long journey.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
With an extensive background in songwriting and performance…speaking, presenting and facilitating, connecting with others comes naturally. What I’ve been told sets me apart is my passion, lived experience and the willingness to tell the truth regardless how uncomfortable it may make others feel. Telling the truth, being brutally honest, always showing up and doing what I say I’m going to do is how I got to where I am today. In a social construct where you can find hollow hearts and minds with degrees and certificates, men of integrity and honor are far and few between. The main lesson that I have learned in this work and practically any field one chooses, you must become the message you bring and you must be the song you sing. It is not as important to me that the world remember my brand or story as much as it is for me to carry on the work and endeavors of those who came before me. If I can move the needle of freedom, justice and equality a little more to the benefit of fallen humanity, then I would have truly had a life well lived.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Undoubtedly my best friend and I would first do a sweat lodge either in Boulder or Sedalia Colorado. Then we would hit an Air BnB in Glenwood Springs where we would enjoy the mineral springs and the mineral caves. Our day would be filled with, meditation, hiking, martial arts, horse back riding and a full body massage.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In this, my story, Laura Downing (the associate director of From The Heart Ent., dear sister and friend) must not only be acknowledged but given credit as the first person to see in me what I did not see in myself and push me relentlessly toward my purpose and destiny. There would be no From The Heart had it not been for her contribution, dedication and vision.
