Meet Hannah Huffman: CBD Educator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hannah Huffman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hannah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I saw the opportunity to start my own business I took the leap. As with most industries, the CBD industry in particular is filled with thousands of companies, so how do our customers even know where to start?? We have stayed true from day one. Broad Spectrum 0.0% THC. What does this mean?

Within the marijuana plant there are 113 different cannabinoids. CBD is one, THC is one, then there’s CBN, CBG, etc. There are SO many benefits to utilizing the ENTIRE plant. Most companies are using something called isolate. This means they are using only the CBD cannabinoid, and it is usually a pretty low concentration. I’m not saying this is wrong or not beneficial, but why use just one cannabinoid when you can have many more benefits using the entire plant??

The Broad Spectrum Oil we use is also 0.0% THC. Meaning – none of our products will show up on a drug test! We pride ourselves in providing the highest quality CBD. All of our products utilize 3rd party testing and are bottled according to pharmaceutical standards.

When we started our brand – Fleur, our mission has never changed. To create the highest quality products, along with an educational experience for all of our customers. We want EVERYONE to be able to utilize the benefits of this amazing plant! (i.e. flight  attendants, athletes, etc.) 

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

Fleur offers a variety of different products. We provide daily supplements, topicals, pet  supplements, cosmetics, and we are working on new gourmet  confections! Made by our in house Executive Chef who has been  classically trained, working in numerous Michelin restaurants  around the world. 

Another key product that sets us apart is our Water Soluble CBD.  Pure hemp oil is water-insoluble, and under physiological conditions  is not readily absorbed into the bloodstream. Basically, think about  dropping a drop of olive oil in a glass of water. It doesn’t mix very  well does it? With our body being more than 70% water, with a  standard tincture oil, we only absorb about 5-10% of what we think  we’re taking. With our water soluble CBD, we shrink the particle  size down so small, that our bodies will absorb about 80% of the oil.  That’s 8x more effective than a traditional CBD tincture!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In 2016, I graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in  Art and General Business. A year later, I earned my master’s from  DU in Project Management.  

In 2018, an opportunity fell into my lap and I took it. I worked sales  for the largest Zero-THC CBD supplier in North America. At that  time, I knew nothing about the CBD industry. I was trained, and I  started to see how this magical plant started to positively effect  people’s lives. I then shared my knowledge with my dad – Jim  Huffman. My dad is a patent attorney and he knew nothing about  CBD either. Once he saw the benefits, he started working alongside  me at the same company.  

At the time, we were selling the raw product to different  manufacturers. A year later, we saw there was an opportunity to 

create our own brand. Never in my life did I see myself owning a  CBD business.  

We work directly with the supplier (the same supplier we were  doing sales for), therefore we have significant product knowledge.  

Who am I to break away from a job and start my own company? My  dad asked if I wanted to take the leap with him and I said, YES! I  could have NEVER done any of this work without him. He has  guided my through the ups and downs of starting a business. I am so  thankful to not only have such a strong/supportive role model, but  we also love working with each other! We have fun with it. We won’t just work any event together. We strategically pick festivals  that we’d attend ourselves.  

We’ve worked the Aspen Food and Wine, Telluride Food and Wine,  Napa to Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon, Steamboat Food and  Wine, etc. We love working these events together and sharing our  CBD education to anyone and everyone we can! We are definitely  looking forward to attending festivals again in the future!
