Meet Heather DeSiena

We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather DeSiena and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Heather, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
The decision to speak up and use my voice. For many years (especially early in my corporate career) I stayed silent in situations where I should have been advocating for myself and others. I was fearful of retaliation, wanted to protect my reputation, and thought that being outspoken could backfire.
When I started speaking for myself, and teaching others to do the same – everything changed. I now live by a motto that I share on all of my platforms: success doesn’t happen in silence.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At the core of my business is one key question: how do we prioritize both people and profit? I’m honored to take that question to corporate organizations as a revenue leader, and to stages as a professional speaker.
In my fractional work, I help startups scale by building revenue strategies that put relationships and trust at the center. On stage, I take those same lessons to bigger audiences and teach people how to negotiate, ask better questions, and show up with confidence in high-stakes conversations.
What sets me apart is that I’ve proven these skills across multiple industries; I’ve worked as a television news anchor, chaplain, and cybersecurity consultant. I’ve gained experience and wisdom from each of my high-pressure careers, and I’m now able to pour those “lessons learned” into my clients.
Honestly? None of it was easy. I’ve faced setbacks, pivots, and steep learning curves…but each challenge taught me resilience and how to translate obstacles into results.
I’m most proud that my work helps founders succeed faster and gives professionals the tools to advocate for themselves. If there’s one thing I want people to know about my brand, it’s this: success happens when you put people first; the profit follows.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is Colorado, so we have to start with a hike in the mountains! Monarch lake and the trail surrounding it are gorgeous.
Next is brunch. Lucile’s Creole Cafe has incredible beignets (they’re worth the powdered sugar mess).
Back to the outdoors for one of Colorado’s lesser known wonders, the Paint Mines.
And of course, wandering around any of our cute mountain towns and stopping for coffee along the main street is a must.
Finally, happy hour on an outdoor patio (I love casual spots with great cocktails) and ice cream (Little Man is always a favorite).

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My life and career wouldn’t be the same without the friends who stand by me, the mentors who advise me well, and the executives/event planners/podcast hosts/media directors/etc. who take a chance on me.
For every word of encouragement, late night phone call, brainstorming session, introduction, referral…thank you.
