We had the good fortune of connecting with IAMGRÜV and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi IAMGRÜV, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I simply love to create and collaborate, so starting a business was more about making a life around doing what I love.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
“A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.”

This quote deeply inspired me early on to explore multiple mediums and modalities in this thing called life. I’m a multi-disciplinary artist, but I’ve worked in marketing, medicine, and even ministry. I initially started pursuing music in high school, but have developed an affinity for graphic design, photography, and other tools to improve my image and to become a more well-rounded artist. Practicing several skills has taught me patience and collaborating with various artists and entrepreneurs alike in different industries has given me the perspective that overall has made me a better person. I’ve loved, lost, and learned many times over, but it’s all helped me to create with compassion and clarity.

Whether it be an audio or visual composition, my art is experimental, eclectic, yet conscious. I’m like this with my wardrobe, my relationships… anything and I want to shine through my work as my authentic self. I am my art. I am art. We are our biggest masterpieces. The journey to find ourselves, especially as artists, can be paradoxical be it that we often work on ourselves as much as we work on our passions, yet sometimes struggle with the synchronicity between ourselves and our art. And now more than ever it seems not enough to be good at something, you have to be a total package as an artist. This is why I take pride in being able to deliver quality creations in different ways, but also in who I’ve become through the dedication to my craft and the amazing connections I’ve made on this path.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I don’t have any go-to spots in Denver, but I’d take my friends to all my artist friends’ shows and galleries. There’s usually something to do here, we’d honestly just take some shrooms and see where the week goes lol.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shout out anyone who has ever supported me, but also the people who are dedicated to spreading positive energy and making the world a better place.
