Meet Ida Chorney | Holistic Aesthetician & Nutritional Therapist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ida Chorney and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ida, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
When it comes to the question of continuing on or giving up, for me there is no question. I simply look at giving up as not being an option.
If you are tired of starting over, stop giving up!
Of course along your journey, no matter which path it is down, you will experience set backs. Set backs are not meant to make you question whether you should keep going or not, they are meant to be lessons that prove to ourselves how strong we really are and that we always have the ability to keep moving forward.
Challenges are inevitable, but success is a choice.
So if you find yourself wondering whether you should keep going or give up, just remind yourself that giving up is not an option, and the best results come from being forced to overcome your hurdles.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My obsession with skin began long before I knew I wanted to be an esthetician. But the day I realized I could turn my obsession in to a career and build a business centered around helping people feel confident and radiant, I knew I would never work another day in my life!
The ability to rid yourself of limiting beliefs comes hand in hand with confidence. Confidence will allow you to rise above negativity and self doubt, soaring through life with your fullest potential. Confidence simply breeds positivity, and if I can inspire confidence in others, I know can make the world a more positive place!
I take a holistic approach with my skincare practice, meaning I view the skin as a messenger for what is happening in both our physical and emotional body. In order to address skin issues, I believe every aspect of our life must be addressed including treatments, skincare products, lifestyle and nutrition.
It was my personal struggle with psoriasis that started me down the path of educating myself about skin. I struggled with psoriasis for years, I saw countless dermatologists and nothing ever worked. Eventually I ended up healing my own skin by creating skincare products based off of my research, and addressing some personal emotional issues. I quickly realized that I had a gift and had found my passion. I needed to continue learning about skincare and be licensed to help others with their skin issues as well .
I knew as soon as I graduated from the Denver School of Botanical and Medical Aesthetics that I wanted to open my own practice. Shortly after graduating I opened Glow With Ida Holistic Aesthetics and started building my empire. I strive to create a safe and inclusive space where my clients can come and let me hold their energy while they take the space and time for their healing process. I preform facials, advanced exfoliations, microneedling, nutritional counseling and I also do brows!
Nothing makes me happier than seeing my clients transform their skin. Over time I see my clients confidence blossom in to this beautiful place where their true self just radiates with happiness and warmth! It truly is an amazing thing to see.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Living in Denver is so unique! Within the same day you can be way out in the mountains snowboarding backcountry lines and then back in the city for dinner and a music show! It is pretty awesome.
As an avid outdoor adventurer I love to explore the western slope, snowboarding in the winter and hiking/biking in the summer. Love Copper Mountain, Keystone, and Steamboat to just name a few of my favorite resorts. There is plenty of backcountry fun to be had as well! Strap on the split board and climb up a mountain, ride some fresh powder lines down, there really is no better feeling!
Music has always been a hugely influential part of my life and we have one of the best music venues in the world, Red Rocks, right in our back yard! Always trying to catch a show there whenever I can! There are tons of fun venues around the city as well, you can hit up Jazz night at the Meadowlark Bar or happen upon a surprise Griz pop-up show up on a rooftop! The music is endless and I love it!
Where do I even begin with food! Even though we are in a landlocked state, the sushi scene in Denver is poppin! I love to hit up Uchi or Sushi Den for some delicious, delicious sushi. Or if you are feeling like some bomb Mediterranean with the most beautiful view of the city I always check out El Five. For a fancy night out Fruition is one of the cities best restaurants with an ever changing menu and super romantic atmosphere! When I’m feeling like catching the best Vegan food I have ever had I head to Somebody People where the food is always mouthwateringly amazing and the wine selection is on point. I could literally go on for ever and ever!
Denver has the most miles of bike trail out of any city in the country! One of my favorite things to do is bike around the city, maybe hit up Washington Park or Cheeseman Park or City Park for a sunset hang or a soccer game. Or just sitting in the park getting some sun and watching all the puppies!!
I also LOVE the Denver Botanic Gardens. With a locals membership you can access the gardens through Cheeseman Park at any time! I love to walk around and enjoy the beautiful flowers, take cat nap or get some work done. It really is special!
After living in Denver for almost 13 years I can absolutely proudly call it my home! While I will always be on the move and traveling, I love being able to have Denver as my home base.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I absolutely would never have been able to begin my career as an esthetician without the support of my family. My sister Hazel, is not only always there to encourage me to unapologetically follow my dreams, but she has built my website and manages my social media marketing! She is a complete boss babe and has helped me turn the vision of my brand in to a reality.
I also have to shoutout to the entire staff at the Denver Botanical and Medical School of Aesthetics. It is a group of the most talented, knowledgable, open-minded, loving educators I have ever met! I not only learned how to be an esthetician here, I learned how to be a great esthetician here. A huge thank you Hillary Hilliard, owner of Denver SBMA. Hillary’s school and continuous generosity has made me in to the esthetician I am today!
