Meet Insomniac Drives | Post-Rock Band

We had the good fortune of connecting with Insomniac Drives and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Insomniac, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Jacob and Jesse have been playing music together since high school, so when we first started making music with Insomniac Drives it came easily, especially with the addition of such great musicians and friends in Jules and Nick. For us, music is the only thing we could ever do. We have all dreamed of playing in a rock band and touring and bringing our music to others, and we feel extremely lucky to have been welcomed by the Denver scene.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Our music is set apart form others due to the various influences we all have. Jesse listens to a lot of shoegaze and post-rock bands, and a lot of folk music. Jules listens to a lot of more indie rock influences, like Nothing But Thieves. Jacob listens to some heavier post-rock as well as jazz and latin music. And Nick listens to a lot of R&B and more Breakcore-based Electronic music. This collage of influences blends to create a really unique sound.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of our favorites places in Denver are places we have been to together as a band. we love restaurants like Sushi-Rama, and The Denver Central Market.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We would love to shout out our friends and family who have supported us, and anyone who has listened to us and come to a show!
