We had the good fortune of connecting with Interpretive Tyranny and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Interpretive, why did you pursue a creative career?
As people we felt that there was no outlet to let the world know the way that we feel. It is easy to get your voice lost in the superficialness of modern popular culture, especially with the bloated nature of social media. It seems that everyone is trying to be the same as everyone else these days, and when you are trying to be something different, you get drowned out. So, we thought, how do you stand out and let your voice be heard? Hard, punk-funk, and everything in between music.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When we started working on original music we were only a 3 person rock group at the time. We experimented with plenty of sounds and ended up recording and releasing our first single ‘Revolution’ which is a rage against the machine style rap rock track. When the Covid-19 Pandemic struck in march of 2020 we found ourselves no longer working well together in an artistic format. We were at all time low morale of a band. At the time, working as a duo Connor and Marcus wrote a few grunge songs to try to reignite the flame that once stood. After a few tries in personnel we found our fantastic Bassist Alex, and our great Drummer Hayden. After playing dozens of shows over the past year, we are on a mission to find our perfect sound to show the whole world who we are as a band and as people.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As a band, a few of us love to skateboard so if our friend skates, you haven’t seen Denver if you don’t try Denver Skate Park. As for food, we love Fat Shack of all of our favorite spots. It’s the best greasy food you will find in the mile high city without jumping into the deep frier at McDonald’s.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We would like to dedicate our shoutout to all the people that have supported us through our music endeavors. Our two founding members Connor (Guitar) and Marcus (Vocals) met through School of Rock, a huge thank you to that organization for helping us as musicians and helping building chemistry for our band.
