Meet Isis Aaliyah | Tattoo Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Isis Aaliyah and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Isis, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Honestly the past few years I’ve realized that having power over my own schedule gives me the power to be productive in many ways, I can overall enjoy myself and make time for those I love. Having my own business gives me the authority to do so! Also just watering myself in many ways and growing if I’m going to work hard I want it to be 100% beneficial to me and my future
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m honestly just proud of myself for not giving up..there’s been so many moments where I just thought I wasn’t good enough and was letting others get the best of me! Every time I would pick myself up and keep going and if I didn’t I wouldn’t be where I am today……I’ve learned that loving myself and confidence goes along way you just have to believe in yourself
I feel like the biggest challenge I’ve faced has been myself my head the thoughts making me think that everyone is out to get me or doesn’t support me…in reality I also wouldn’t be where I am today without those around me. Being nice to myself has been something I’m understanding.
My Dad bought me a machine my senior year of high school I was that kid doodling in class, since I was 13 loved art, for Christmas it was my thing to gift my family my artwork. The machine sat around for a year until a school counselor confronted me about what I wanted to do as a career.. I honestly didn’t know but maybe this thing I’ve had sitting around is worth a shot? My parents have told me I would make a great tattoo artist too so I figured why not and she connected me with someone who had a shop, from there I moved to Colorado Springs where I got an apprenticeship and eventually ended up in a Shop me and my dad co owned together being so young and still learning I felt like I needed more time to grow and moved back to Denver I’ve worked at this shop for two years and as of today co owning a private studio!! I’m so thankful for the trust support and love throughout my career
I get to do what I love passionately for a living and it’s amazing it’s a dream come true I get to create on the daily! So thank you
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my friends out to the lake hiking trails. I maybe my favorite bar!!! Slashers, Milk or a local show!!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
