We had the good fortune of connecting with IyanaNyc and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi IyanaNyc, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
My answer has changed to this question the older I got, and the more I’ve matured. Success to me is happiness. Being happy in my situation, being completely satisfied with where I am in life, and having good genuine people around me who bring out the best in me.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Coming into the content creation space feels really overwhelming at first. Wanting so badly to stand out, and to be different. What I very quickly had to remember is that everyone is unique to their situation, everyone has a different story. I have a completely different purpose, different aspirations and all I had to do was be myself, be authentic and true to who I was, and the rest will follow. I want to show the world that everything you see if completely obtainable, with hard work and dedication, no matter how “glamorous” it may come off.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Moving to Denver had been one of the best decisions I’ve made yet! There’s always so much to do, everyone has been super welcoming and so kind. My go to spot for a consistently great dinner, and drinks is Los Chingones in RiNo. Super affordable, great portions, and amazing service!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
In my story, my shoutout will always go to my amazing mother, who unfortunately passed away when I was 10. Even though our time was cut short, I learned so much from her. She taught me what it means to be a loyal friend, how to stick up for myself, and how to be comfortable being the only one with a different viewpoint. Always being true to myself, and my beliefs. Nothing comes close to the love and support she always showed myself and my older brother.
