Meet Jacinda Mahan | Wedding and Event Coordinator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacinda Mahan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jacinda, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Planning my wedding 3 times during Covid (2020) forced me to become a pro at rescheduling, navigating restrictions, and thinking creatively. When it came time for our wedding it was still THE BEST DAY EVER! Many of the vendors at our event were some of our very good friends doing what they were passionate about and if they weren’t already our friends they quickly became good friends throughout our time working with them. Soon after our wedding pictures and video came out, people started reaching out with questions on how to make their big day the best day. That’s when I realized my passion – helping other couples turn their dream day into a reality, stress-free! The adaptability and communication skills I honed during that adventure make me a perfect fit for this role in making other couple’s dream days come to life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My passion is creating dream weddings primarily in the picturesque mountain town of Crested Butte, Colorado. A major highlight was having my very first wedding featured in Rocky Mountain Bride! It was a huge honor and a testament to the dedication and creativity we pour into every event. Jumping into wedding planning wasn’t about ease, but passion. The key to overcoming these challenges is to adapt and learn from each one. Communication is key, and building strong relationships with everyone involved ensures a flawless wedding experience. By fostering collaboration with a fantastic network of vendors, I ensure seamless and stress-free events. I focus on truly understanding each couple’s vision and turning it into a breathtaking reality. Clear communication, meticulous attention to detail, and a touch of mountain charm allow me to craft deeply personal and beautiful weddings that perfectly capture their love story.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Crested Butte is a small, charming mountain town surrounded by endless activities. Hiking, paddleboarding, or biking on an epic trail network – all right in your backyard. Summer explodes with wildflower festivals, while fall boasts vibrant foliage. And that’s not all! Rafting, camping, horseback riding– the list goes on.

Downtown Crested Butte is a foodie haven. Delicious restaurants, cozy coffee shops, and craft breweries and distilleries line Elk Avenue. Don’t miss Third Bowl Ice Cream at Tincup for a sweet treat! Live music fills the air most evenings, creating a vibrant atmosphere for enjoying a delicious meal or drink under the cool summer sky. Every week there are multiple places to hang out outside and listen to live music. Nothing beats the weather in the summer – warm days and crisp nights make Crested Butte an unforgettable escape.

These are just summer activities when wedding season is in full swing. The winter has it’s own separate itinerary.

My husband, Tim, my constant source of support, jumped right in with me on this adventure. He wasn’t just there to share the joys of the wedding day, he became a true partner, helping out with wedding coordination every step of the way. His unwavering belief in me and his willingness to tackle any task, big or small, has been invaluable. He truly understands that it takes a team to make dreams come true, and his willingness to be part of mine means the world.

Then there’s my mom, my biggest cheerleader. No matter how unconventional my ideas seemed, her unwavering support and encouragement fueled my passion. She might not be on the frontlines, but her constant support behind the scenes, even if it’s just rooting me on from afar, means the world. They’re both incredible examples of true partnership, and I wouldn’t be here without them!
