Meet Jacinda Young: Makeup Artist , Eyelash technician certified, and I have a cosmetic brand called Slayy Cosmetics

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacinda Young and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jacinda, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As a 18 yr older I started working a lot of jobs and a lot of jobs because where I from they don’t have to give you a reason why they are going to fire you. Everytime this would happen I would feel my purpose was not to work for others but to be a worker for myself in my own business. Back in 2011 I started cosmetology school later 2012 I graduated and knew that was my purpose but wanted to upscale it in a different way. After graduating cosmetology I started working at a nail shop for a while trying to see if that was my passion and it was at the time but my true passion was makeup. Every since I was a little girl it was something about makeup I loved and a lot of things in the beauty world that’s trending now I did back when I was in middle school. Everyone would tell me that is what you was meant to do beauty is in your DNA. I have been doing makeup for about 6-7 yrs and I love making people feel and look beautiful so I am a makeup artist and a eyelash technician. My brand I built around all this is called Slayy Cosmetics it’s a cosmetic brand , cosmetic services, and skincare brand I also travel doing cosmetic services.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets myself apart from others I love thinking on new ways to make myself and my brand stand out as a CEO of my company I want to maximize it to its greatest potential. I work day and night on creating ways to be different yes it’s a lot of people doing what I do but they are only doing one or two I’m doing 4 different things in my brand so it makes me different and stand out. I will honestly say my creative mind is really stands out and sets me apart but no one can be me there is only one.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So I’m not from here I’m originally from Gulfport Mississippi born and raised I’ve only lived here a yr and a month so I can’t really say where I would take them. But what I would say is I would look up recommended things to do out here and if it sounds like something we would love to do we would go for it. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would say my family always taught me to fight and work hard for everything. My husband he pushes me to keep pushing no matter what. My son Adrian’ who roots for his mother always he’s my number 1 fan just like my husband Christian and my family. I can’t thank them enough for being so hard on me when I was young it made me exactly who I am today and the hustler I remain to be.
