We had the good fortune of connecting with Jack Weaver and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jack, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued the artistic career of the restoration business because of the love for classic cars. I grew up building and driving them, and then started a little business out of my garage on the side. I then started a restoration shop in Grand Junction, CO, and it’s been growing for 10 years now.  With the need for good help at my shop and not finding qualified people I started a non profit workshop to teach students out of high school all the skills of restoration. We need to keep the younger generation into trades like this or we will not be able to have these amazing cars in 20 years.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have owned a hot rod shop for 10 year and build classic cars for people all over the United States. If they dream it I can build it. I believe in hard work and being organized. I have learned that you have to have a good team to help make your dreams come true. I have some amazing employees that help make our company #1! Our team is also giving back to the community and kids all around the United States. We have opened a non profit that teaches them skills of restoration, so they can instantly get into the workforce.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Bring them to our shop to see what amazing classic cars we are building. We would then go have dinner at the Devil’s kitchen and see the stunning city and lights of Grand Junction at the top of the THe Maverick Hotel. The next day we would journey to the Colorado Monument and do some hiking, then head down to the Handlebar Restaurant for some beers and burgers. We would plan a night of music at the Warehouse or Los Colonias. The next day we would venture to the Grand Mesa to do some fishing and paddle boarding where we would stay at The Grand Mesa Lodge cabins. Returning the next day we would relax at some wineries in Palisade, Colorado. We would end our week at the weekly rodeo in Fruita, Colorado and have some yummy burgers and the hometown favorite Munchies.
