We had the good fortune of connecting with Jackie Brooks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jackie, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I come from Marquette, located in the heart of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, which is a remote area known only to a few people. Our community is built on hard work and perseverance. My father, Chris Brooks, established our agency, previously known as Bottom Line Marketing, in the UP 23 years ago. At that time, there was no real need for an agency in the UP, as there was seemingly not enough business to support it. However, with determination and a fantastic creative knack, he quickly became the leading advertiser in the market by representing the top clients. I was a junior in high school when my dad decided to venture into entrepreneurship, and unfortunately, I discouraged him from doing it. I was young, foolish, and selfish. Nonetheless, he will tell you that my words motivated him even more to succeed. Today, I have bought out my dad, sister, and brother-in-law in the business that we all grew together. From a one-man band, we have grown to over 70 employees representing clients in 38 states. Without my dad’s vision and the heart, discipline, and tenacity he demonstrated in starting this company in a small town, we would not be the company we are today. We still follow the same principles he established, with the same golden rule: “We want to work with clients we would invite into our home for dinner.”

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Loudr Agency is a people-first organization that values its employees and client relationships. Our core values are communication, dedication, tenacity, versatility, and being Loudr. We are a full-service advertising agency that helps businesses grow strategically through marketing and advertising.

I reached this point in my career through hard work, learning from my mistakes, and leveraging my relationships. I believe that reputation and word are everything. If you promise to do something, do it. Always under-promise and over-deliver. Relationships are key and it’s important to help others who are just starting out.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would start out in Rino and have espresso martini’s on the roof deck and Death and Co. with an omakase dinner at Uchi. We would then take in a show at Nocturne and because we’re getting old we’ll have a nightcap in my kitchen.

We would get up the next day and drive to Boulder for a hike and a farmer’s market haul. We will likely eat brunch at a food truck and stop at a brewery on Pearl Street for a quick beer before driving back to Denver. With our goods from the market, we would make dinner in my backyard and have some friends over to enjoy some steaks from Western Daughters butcher shop.

There would be a trip up to the mountains for a few days but quickly back to the city to enjoy a few other favorite spots of mine. Frank and Roze for coffee, Jerusalem for a casual lunch one day, Would definitely take the kids to visit our favorite waitress, Tiffany, at Pete’s University Park Cafe.. better known to us as “Pete’s”

Other activities we would likely take in are a DU sports game; lacrosse or gymnastics are the top choices.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband, Chris Gaskill. I would not be here in this role, in this life, without him.
