We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacob Sillemon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jacob, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
One of the most important factors behind our company/brand success is dedication. It is super easy to give up when things aren’t going your way or you feel discouraged. At BasementFlav we find it within ourselves to never give up and remember why we started and push forward.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets BasementFlav apart from all of the other music companies is our ability to create and display high quality content around ideas, themes, and emotions. Everyone at BasementFlav is great at contributing ideas to achieve a common set goal which we pride ourselves in. The way BasementFlav got to where we are today was a mix of hardwork, teamwork, sacrifices, discipline, and our willingness to keep learning and growing. It is never easy doing what you love. You have to be ready to go through the ups and downs, and the highs and the lows. One way BasementFlav continues to over come adversity is teamwork and faith. We at BasementFlav learned that the journey will never be smooth sailing, but pushing forward “By Any Means” is what gets us to our desired destination. What we want the world to know about BasementFlav and our story is that we are just like everyone else. We come from hardship and poverty, but we NEVER let those traits identify us, we use those traits as stepping stones to become GREAT like we all are destined to be.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If we wanted to show someone a good time, we would take them to some of the most beautiful places Colorado has to offer. We would take a drive through Lookout mountain like we did as kids, take them to the Red Rocks Music Venue to see the view. Treat them to some of our favorite food spots in the area, and for sure catch a Rockies, Broncos, Nuggets, or Avalanche game.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The people that we would like to give shout outs and recognition to are Our father Jeff S SR, our mother April G, our sisters Jocelyn, Jadah, Janeah, our grandmothers Alberta, Virgina, Paulina, Bobbie, our grandfathers Joe, Fermin, Franciso, Zeke SR, all of our cousins, Shanee Melendez at Dbey Templo consulting, and most importantly GOD.
