We had the good fortune of connecting with Jada Johannes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jada, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Community, success, and ethics are really the backbone of my business, but not in a stiff, corporate kind of way. Community, first and foremost, is everything. I’ve been lucky to work with the most incredible clients, and those genuine connections have naturally turned into word-of-mouth referrals, friendships, and an overall support system that keeps me going. But community isn’t just about clients—it’s also about learning from and collaborating with other creatives in the industry. Some of my biggest growth moments have come from connecting with fellow photographers, attending retreats, and just swapping stories and ideas with people who get it.

Success, to me, isn’t just about hitting certain numbers or booking a ton of gigs—it’s about delivering photos that make people feel something. Seeing a client tear up when they look at their wedding gallery? That’s success. And then there’s ethics. I believe in running my business with honesty, respect, and doing the right thing, even when it’s not the easiest route. At the end of the day, these three things—community, success, and ethics—have helped me build a brand that feels authentic, meaningful, and, honestly, pretty fun.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Photography, for me, is about capturing real, authentic moments—the laughter, quiet glances, and raw emotions that tell a story. My style is warm and natural, focusing on genuine connections rather than perfection. What sets me apart is my ability to create a relaxed environment where clients can be themselves, allowing me to capture their true essence.

The journey to where I am today wasn’t easy. There were challenges, from technical struggles to self-doubt, but each hurdle taught me something valuable. I’ve learned the importance of resilience, staying true to my vision, and the power of community—both from mentors and fellow creatives.

I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built, not just with clients but within the creative community. What I want the world to know about my brand is that it’s built on authenticity—I’m here to capture the real moments that matter and create memories my clients can cherish forever.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to give a huge shoutout to the incredible photography community that’s been part of my journey. From the mentors who’ve shared their wisdom to the fellow creatives I’ve met at workshops and retreats, I’ve learned so much from being surrounded by passionate, talented people. The photo retreat I attended in South Africa was a game-changer—it pushed me creatively, helped me build lifelong friendships, and reminded me just how much magic happens when we step out of our comfort zones.

A special shoutout goes to my business coach, Morgan Elizabeth Photography. Morgan has been an absolute powerhouse of knowledge, encouragement, and tough-love advice when I needed it most. She’s helped me refine my vision, streamline my processes, and step into my role as a confident business owner. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her guidance.

I also have to shout out my amazing clients, who trust me to capture some of their most intimate and emotional moments. Their excitement, kind words, and genuine support have fueled my growth more than they probably realize. And, of course, my family and friends have been my biggest cheerleaders from day one—always encouraging me to go for it, even when I doubted myself. It really does take a village, and I’m beyond grateful for mine.
