We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamie Frederick and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jamie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
In starting my own business, I hoped to be able to do more and more of what I love to do. And that’s photography, but more specifically photography that makes a difference in the lives of the people I take pictures of. I love the artistry in capturing a unique moment, and being able to empower people with the photos you take. In my business I wanted to be able to offer that kind of empowering experience. I wanted to be able to create an image that lets someone see the amazing person that I can see through my lens.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve been doing photography for around 17 years now. It’s been a unique journey, starting on film and sticking with that as long as I had before finally moving to digital around 7 years ago. I truly do love shooting film, and I still break out that old camera occasionally, but moving to digital gave me a much larger reach and a more modern touch to my art, As far as my brand and story, I have had a lot of successes that I look back on, including being able to speak at a local artist show a few years ago. I think the future though is where I really want to be looking towards as a creative. I have a couple personal projects that I am really excited to make and share with the world; two of which I am hoping to start this year.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly if someone from out of town was visiting, I think I would take them to the mountains for most pf the trip, show them some unique sites that I know from living here as long as I have. Ones that aren’t on the tourist maps that you can buy. I would also take them to a couple of my favorite local coffee shops before ending the trip by visiting some of the art galleries in RiNo.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this to every amazing person I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Thank you,
