We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamie Stein and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jamie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The idea to start my own business developed over several years of gaining experience and recognizing a gap in the market. After graduating from Cook Street Culinary School, I became a Chef Instructor there, where I taught cooking classes and continued to refine my skills while exploring a wide range of cuisines and ingredients. During this time, I was introduced to the concept of weekly meal prep through a former graduate and a connection in the women’s health space. Learning that this was an underserved market in Denver, I took a leap of faith and launched my own meal prep company. Thanks to word-of-mouth referrals, the business quickly grew, allowing me to transition into full-time meal prep for families.

The idea of providing meal prep to families across the state, and eventually the country, is incredibly exciting. I am fully committed to growing the business as far as it can go. I have big dreams for what it can become, and even four years in, it still feels like I’m just getting started.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is a weekly meal prep company focused on creating nutritious, delicious meals that are fully customized to each client’s needs. What sets us apart is the level of care and detail we put into every part of the experience. We tailor menus to every dietary need, are passionate about our in-home cooking model and as a nutritionist, I can help support people through a variety of life changes or diagnoses. We’re not a one-size-fits-all service. We take the time to understand each client’s lifestyle, preferences, and health goals, and we craft meals that truly reflect that.

Getting to where we are today has been a journey filled with ups and downs. Starting out meant taking a big leap of faith, pursuing a passion and figuring things out as I went. There are still plenty of long days, self-doubt, and logistical hurdles, but I push through by staying grounded in my purpose: helping people feel their best through food. I’ve learned to be resourceful, to ask for help, rely on my amazing team of chefs and to trust the process even when things feel uncertain.

What I’m most proud of is the community we’ve built. Many of our clients have been with us for years and refer their friends and family, not just because they enjoy the meals, but because they genuinely feel like this service is one of a kind. I’m excited about the future and the potential to expand our impact even further.

What I want the world to know is that this business is built on passion. Every dish is made with intention, and our goal is to nourish people. Our service allows clients to reclaim their time and focus on what matters most in their lives. My mission is to feed as many people as possible with wholesome, personalized meals made just for them. Food that fuels their bodies, fits their lifestyle and is, most importantly, delicious.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love when friends visit me in Denver. Since it’s summer, we would start out our week by camping in the mountains at one of my favorite off-the-grid spots. We would cook my famous campfire fajitas and have s’mores for dessert. We would sit by the campfire while playing card games and star gazing to cap off the night. On our way back to Denver we would stop at Smokin Yard’s BBQ in Idaho Springs and eat down by the river.

Back in Denver, we would enjoy breakfasts at Pete’s Cafe or Lucille’s and grab pastries from Rebel Bread or Reunion Bakery. During the days we would walk my dog, Shiloh, to my local park or go for a hike near Red Rocks or Golden Gate Canyon State Park. Hiking is such a great way to see Colorado’s vast landscape. In the evenings we would enjoy beers at Denver Beer Company and dinners at can’t miss restaurants like Safta, Tavernetta, and J’s Noodles on Federal. Of course we’d make sure to see a concert at Red Rocks. We’d kick things off with either a fun tailgate before the show or a laid back dinner in Morrison’s cute downtown. Either is a great way to start an unforgettable evening of music at my favorite venue.

To wrap up the week we would spend Sunday morning at the South Pearl Street Farmers Market, picking up fresh produce and local products. We would grab some breakfast or lunch from a local food truck and enjoy it while chatting about the amazing week we just had.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to dedicate this shoutout to my family. First, my parents. Through every risk I’ve taken to get to where I am today, they’ve been by my side, cheering me on. They’ve been a constant source of support, encouragement, thoughtful advice, and a listening ear when things get tough. They never doubted my decision to pursue two additional degrees after undergrad or to leave a stable job for the unknown, and I’m endlessly grateful for their confidence in me. My sister also deserves recognition. She’s always brainstorming ways I can grow the business and encouraging me to take bold steps. And lastly, but certainly not least, my husband. He sees every high and low that comes with entrepreneurship. He is my biggest supporter, my sounding board, and the one who keeps me grounded. His belief in me and my wild ideas means everything. I truly wouldn’t be here without him.
