Meet Karli Lamb | Mental Health Therapist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Karli Lamb and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Karli, what is the most important factor behind your success?
After my mom passed away in 2013, I felt a calling to help people in the dark seasons of their life. Once grief entered into my life, so much changed and I wanted to help others through that transition with the experience and knowledge I have gained from going through my own loss at a young age. My mother was full of grit and tenacity and also pushed me to pursue my degree. She is responsible for getting me to the right places and taught me how to show up for myself. I know she is proud of me, and I am so grateful for her influence on my success.
What should our readers know about your business?
My role is to be a compassionate guide through the process of therapy. I walk together with clients to deconstruct narratives that keep them from experiencing their worth in this world. I use trauma and shame informed therapy to construct a space where people can take a breath and be themselves. My hope is that people leave therapy feeling seen, supported, and cared for. I’ve gotten here today by doing my own work around shame and integrating a compassionate approach to healing. The lessons I’ve learned along the way are to take space around our feelings and emotions – all are valid. I want the world to know that therapy is worth it and such an amazing investment in yourself.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Get ready for the perfect day in Fort Collins. Ready? Okay. First, an early morning hike to Horsetooth Falls followed by a delicious brunch at Silver Grill Cafe with their famous cinnamon roll and yummy veggie benedict. Then after the bellies are full and everyone is ready to relax, head over to a matinee at The Lyric where you can sit back and enjoy a classic film or a new movie. After the movie, check out some funky books and records at Bizarre Bizarre. Then off to some pre dinner drinks at Social and finish the night with some fish and chips and a nice pint at Crown Pub. If there is still room for fun, The Forge is a great place to cozy up next to their wood burning fireplace.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Peter Levine’s work on trauma and polyvagal theory has been so impactful on not only my life as a counselor, but my personal life as well. Learning to process trauma through movement and unlocking our body’s potential for healing has changed so many lives. Another organization that deserves a shout out is the Colorado Counseling Association. Through their trainings and conferences I have gained so much knowledge and being able to present at the CCA Conference on the Neuroscience of Mindfulness was such an amazing experience.
