We had the good fortune of connecting with Janice Kerbel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Janice, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
When starting in a new industry like photography and not knowing anything about it. It is hard to find how to promote your business, where to advertise your business, what to use to get your name out there. That is the hardest thing getting your name out there and that you are ready for business.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We are professional photographers and videographers. We are different from other due to our unique perspective because of our mental conditions. We see things differently when we are looking through our cameras and taking pictures. Every picture we take also represents some story that is needing to be told. Just starting is not easy, and the challenges that we are overcoming are getting clients, trying to get everything done within a day, where and how to promote our business and letting people kn0w what we exist and in business. The lessons that we have learned are that as long we are working together, we can get things done and be comfortable with being around others with our mental conditions. Even though we are called Unstable Culture, there is a reason for our name, we both have mental conditions, we use anime, gaming, comics, travels, photography, and videography to help us cope with our conditions, but we also use it to show others what we see through our photography and videography.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was coming to visit the area and I wanted to show them the best time ever. Day 1 I would first take them to Downtown Denver show them, the capital, 16th street mall, the Convention Center, the Union Train Station. I would take them to Rodizio Grill because that is my favorite place to eat Downtown. Day 2 – I would take them up to Lookout Mountain in Golden to see the view of Denver from there, then after that take them up to Blackhawk for the Casinos and let them try it out. Day 3 – Going to Estes Park for a day Day 4- Going to Colorado Springs to the Garden of the Gods, Day 5 Taking them to Glenwood Springs for the Hot Springs. Those would be some of the things. that I would do.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shout out to our families who help support us and encourage us to pursue our dream of starting our business in photography and Youtube.
