We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Emmerich and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jason, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I thought to my self, I’ve seen the process of service from greeting a customer, to fixing the vehicles, to payment and vehicle delivery. And when it comes to making a business out of fixing issues on vehicles, the technician is the main asset of that business. So I knew I could handle the main part of a shop (repairs) and I would just figure out how to right my own receipts, pricing, and create my own brand experience for the customer. I have always wanted to have my own auto shop so I figured, what the hell, it’s my turn. Then I started coming up with the name, logo, and so on.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love what do, & that, I think, sets me a part from others because it shows in my work. I am most proud of my accomplishments during my career and am very excited to see where it takes me. I have always loved cars, so I decided to take the necessary steps to be able to work on cars, work with the best at it, & work on the best cars. And no it was not easy, I started going to school and working two full time jobs get in a position where could learn more and grow more in the auto industry. I learned a lot, from how to treat customers, to the necessary diagnosis steps, to when should or should not take on a job. I would like every one to think of “care” or “quality” when they see my brand or hear about it.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Shoot, its hard for me to plan something out like that but I would take them down town for a day, rent a bike and check out 16th street, rhino, and different restaurants in each area. We would go to the mountains to hike around for a day, go to Breckenridge, Glenwood, copper mountain and walk around for a day. Check out different restaurants. We would see a show if there is one in town or if its nice find a patio and I like to drink twisted tea or long islands. I like to do random things, what ever feels good for the moment.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My wife plays a big part in my success. She is the one on the front lines, there to help me think clearly when I get a difficult customer, or stressed. Her support is what makes me feel comfortable with my decision to start a business.
