We had the good fortune of connecting with Jay Yelas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jay, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
By providing an opportunity for children with special needs to be celebrated, and showing these kids they are loved and valued and are an important part of their community.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation enriches the lives of children with special needs, supports their families, and strengthens communities through the sport of fishing. The foundation is 33 years old, and has held over 1500 events in 35 states, serving over 140,000 children. We are volunteer driven, and owe our success to all the wonderful people who volunteer to make the kids day special.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation holds 2 events in CO. Bill Wilson is the local event coordinator at our Horsetooth Reservoir event near Ft. Collins. Michelle Ellis is the local event coordinator at our C.A.S.T. for Kids event at Chatfield Reservoir near Littleton.
