We had the good fortune of connecting with Cintya Ventimiglia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cintya, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business was both a personal and professional decision.
In 2019, I had just welcomed my second child. I was working at Mi Casa Resource Center, where I supported both the Business and Accounting departments. As I worked with small business owners and taught accounting and QuickBooks classes, I discovered my passion for helping entrepreneurs understand their finances. I realized that many Hispanic business owners needed financial guidance in their own language, and I knew I could make a difference.
At the same time, I wanted more flexibility for my growing family. I didn’t want to choose between having a meaningful career and being present for my children. I wanted to build a business that allowed me to do both.
I still remember opening my business bank account with my newborn daughter, Nicole, in my arms. During the appointment, she needed a diaper change, but the restroom didn’t have a changing table, so I changed her diaper right there in the bank office. Looking back, that moment perfectly represents how Balance Perfecto began. It wasn’t a perfect start, but it was real. I had my newborn by my side, a dream of helping entrepreneurs understand their finances, and a vision of creating a better future for my family.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Balance Perfecto started with a simple idea: I wanted to help small business owners understand their finances because I truly believe that when business owners understand their numbers, they make better decisions.
As a bilingual accountant originally from Peru, I know that many entrepreneurs work incredibly hard but don’t always have someone who takes the time to explain what their financial reports really mean. That’s my favorite part of what I do. I enjoy sitting down with my clients, answering their questions, and helping them feel confident about their business.
I also believe accounting is much more than preparing financial reports. If I see a way to save a client time or improve a process, I’m going to share it. I remember working with one of my trucking clients who was spending an entire day entering invoices manually every week. We met, I showed him how to import those invoices into QuickBooks, and now he can complete the same task in less than an hour. Seeing my clients succeed is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.
Building this business hasn’t always been easy. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to value my work and the expertise I bring to my clients. There will always be someone who charges less, but I’ve learned that the right clients value quality, communication, and having an accountant who genuinely cares about their success.
Today, Balance Perfecto has grown from just me into a family business, and that makes me incredibly proud. We continue to improve our systems, invest in our team, and grow one step at a time. At the end of the day, my goal is simple: I want every client to feel they received more value than they expected. I want them to know they have an accounting partner who truly cares about their business and wants to see them succeed.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
It would really depend on who was visiting me.
If one of my best friends came from Peru by herself, I’d take her to explore downtown Denver. We’d walk around the city, do some shopping, enjoy great food, and of course, stop for ice cream. I think the best part would simply be catching up while showing her the city that has become my home.
If she came with her family and kids, the trip would be completely different. As a mom of three, I’d plan activities that everyone could enjoy together. We’d visit places like the Denver Zoo, the Children’s Museum, and spend time enjoying Colorado’s beautiful parks.
No matter who is visiting, I’d also make sure we take a trip to the mountains. The scenery is one of the things I love most about Colorado, and I think it’s something every visitor should experience at least once.
Colorado has something for everyone, and that’s one of the reasons I love living here.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without a doubt, my biggest shoutout goes to my husband and my family.
I still remember my first year in business. I only had a couple of clients, and by the end of the year, I felt like I had paid more in taxes than I had earned. I remember asking my husband, “Is it worth keeping my business open?”
I’ll never forget what he said. He told me, “Cintya, you need to stay active. What will happen if you close your business? When the kids are all in school, what are you going to do?”
Those words stayed with me.
Today, our three children are 9, 7, and 5 years old, and they are all in school full time. Looking back, I realize he was right. Because I kept my business going, I was ready to fully focus on growing Balance Perfecto.
I also want to recognize my parents and my siblings. They believed in me from the very beginning. They helped me choose the business name, shared ideas for the logo, and encouraged me every step of the way.
Today, I’m proud to say that Balance Perfecto has become a family business. My brother Felipe, my sister Mariella, and my brother in law Andres are all part of the company. Watching this dream grow alongside my family has been one of the greatest rewards of this journey.
